'The Bachelorette' 2022: Rachel breaks up with Tyler during hometowns, fans call her new 'villain'

'Rachel, I can not keep defending you babe. #bachelorette,' tweeted a fan

WILDWOOD, NEW JERSEY: As Rachel and Tyler set out on their hometown date, it seemed like they were all set for a quintessential 'Bachelorette' date, as they made their way to the pier. While the couple seemed to have a good time, they were quickly joined by Tyler's friends, all of whom were excited to meet Rachel. However, the feeling wasn't mutual, as Rachel quickly found herself thoroughly overwhelmed.

As the day progressed, Rachel admitted that she didn't feel the same way as Tyler did and thus was not ready to meet his family. As she sat him down to explain her predicament, Tyler began to tell her just how amazing she was and the fact that he was falling for her deeply. So what came after made it hard to watch -- Rachel told him that she could not meet his family, as she could not see herself getting there with him.

While the breakup was hard to watch, what came after made it even worse. With Rachel gone, Tyler was left to go back home, to his family, all of whom were waiting to see Rachel. As soon as he walked through the door, there were cheers and celebrations all across the room, until Tyler broke the news to his family, admitting that while he was in love with Rachel, she did not feel the same way. His family seemed upset over the whole ordeal and fans were as well, with the latter directing all their frustration towards Rachel.
