'The A List' fans urge Netflix for a second season of the supernatural teen drama set on a mysterious island
Spoiler Warning!
'The A List' follows a group of teenagers stranded on the mysterious Peregrine Island as popular girls Mia and Amber fight for the status of the queen bee. Produced by Kindle Entertainment, the show initially ran on BBC's streaming service iPlayer. In August 2019, the first and only season of the show was released on Netflix to be broadcast worldwide, except in the United Kingdom.
Created by Dan Berlinka and Nina Metivier, 'The A List' has been touted as the mix of 'Mean Girls' and 'Lost'. The show is rife with pop culture references, and fans are loving it. Many viewers are taking to Twitter to talk about their latest binge-watch on Netflix as they wonder whether they would get a second season for the show.
#TheAList on Netflix is a super creepy British show about an island summer camp where all is not what it seems. We've been binging it pretty much all day. Definitely worth a watch.

Many viewers are understandably spooked by Amber -- played by Ellie Duckles -- who shows up to the seemingly idyllic summer camp under strange circumstances. As the episodes progress, the viewers understand that the power struggle between Mia and Amber is not as it seems and that Amber may, in fact, be targeting Mia for some unknown grievance. It is not until later in the season that the viewers figure out Amber's origins and where her beef with Mia comes from.
The love triangle between Mia (Lisa Ambalavanar), Dev (Jacob Dudman), and Amber is at the forefront of the show -- Dev plays a key role in the battle between Mia and Amber and it becomes clear to viewers that there is more to Mia's and Dev's relationship than even they or the audience knows. Through flashbacks that make Dev question his own sanity, we see cute moments between Mia and Dev, signifying that they did know each other from before and are indeed in love.
However, fans are quick to note that there is potential for another love triangle on the show, that between Dev, Mia, and Luka (played by Max Lohan). Luka is not a camper, but a criminal runaway hiding out on the island. When Mia is ostracized by Amber and her followers, she meets Luka, who promises her phone back and a location where she can get signal in exchange for food and medical supplies. We don't see much of Luka except when it is shown that he has a boat (with a big hole). In the later episodes, Luka comes back to save Mia and he is clearly antagonistic to Dev, mockingly calling him "hero". His jealousy of Dev's and Mia's relationship is palpable when Luka and Dev fix the hole in his boat.
Another couple that fans are rooting for is that of Alex and Petal. Alex is genderqueer and openly identifies so. However, she comes to terms with her feelings for Petal a little too late -- after Petal is left "broken" by Amber's attempts to control her mind.

what a show!! 😱😱
They left it on a cliffhanger!! 😭😭
I need a season 2 now!!! Where is it!??? 😫
The final episode ends on a cliffhanger with the promise of bigger and more sinister villains should the show be renewed for further seasons. While the BBC had not renewed the series for a second season, viewers are calling on Netflix for further seasons of the show. Netflix is now credited as owning the show, so a second season could be up to Netflix. With other successful shows like 'The Society', 'The Rain', and 'Dark', 'The A List' fits right into Netflix's roster and viewers can hope for their prayers to be heard.
