'The 100' Season 7 Episode 8 Preview: Prequel backdoor pilot takes it back to the first Praimfaya on Earth
It's nearly time for the prequel backdoor pilot of 'The 100' on The CW. Titled 'Anaconda', the episode comes right after we learned that Bill Cadogan (John Pyper-Ferguson) is alive even after all his years, despite us believing that he and the Second Dawn cult members had perished in the first nuclear apocalypse brought on by Becca Franco's (Erica Cerra) AI called ALIE.
Now that we know that's not true, many questions arise. How did Bill Cadogan survive? Was there an anomaly stone on Earth? How is Becca's death related to Cadogan? We can promise that fans will have the answers to these questions and many more when the prequel backdoor pilot airs this week.
Reviewers took to social media to post what they thought of the episode and many loved it. One viewer wrote, "#The100 prequel episode airs next Wednesday. I REALLY like it, and I think anyone who is into the show's mythology aspect will like it too. This story world is relevant and rich and deserves a fresh start seen through new eyes. Callie is an A+ protagonist to carry us forward." Another posted, "Legit cannot say much. I know, those words are getting old for all the #PressKru hyping #The100– but, “Anaconda” aka @cwthe100’s backdoor pilot episode is really freakin’ good. Legit loved it and hope @TheCW gives us so much more of this prequel."
There are three main characters to look out for in the prequel besides Cadogan and the much-awaited return of Becca. There's Callie (Iola Evans), who is an activist and fights for the causes in which she believes. However, when the apocalypse devastates the world she had been working so hard to save, Callie must find a new purpose — and future — for all that remains of humanity. Then there's Reese played by Adain Bradley. Hard-working and headstrong, Reese has spent a lifetime in fierce competition with his beloved sister, Callie. But when the opportunity to finally prove his worth comes with an incredible cost, Reese must figure out what lines he is willing to cross to finally come out on top. Leo Howard will play August, a rebellious and passionate musician, who is a member of a radical environmental group dedicated to saving the planet by any means necessary. After the apocalypse, he must figure out how to go on when everything he had been fighting for is gone.
Suffice to say, fans can expect to learn a lot about the history behind what went down before the events of Season 1 of 'The 100'. It's an episode that will be a treat for longtime fans.
