LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sony Pictures has announced the release date for the highly anticipated holiday-themed slasher film, 'Thanksgiving', via their official Twitter account. The film, directed by Eli Roth, returns the director to his horror roots and is based on a fake trailer featured in Grindhouse.

Set in a small Massachusetts town, the story centers around a slasher, who terrorizes the community during the holiday. The film stars Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Milo Manheim, Gina Gershon, Tim Dillon, and Rick Hoffman. 'Thanksgiving', which is currently in production, will be released just in time for the holiday it's named after.

When will 'Thanksgiving' release?

'Thanksgiving', which is set to release on November 17, 2023, will be one of the rare horror films based on the titular holiday. While there have been several holiday-themed horror movies, such as 'Krampus' and 'Black Christmas', set during Christmas, 'Thanksgiving' stands out as a unique addition to the genre.

As the holiday movie season approaches with a packed schedule of films, 'Thanksgiving' will face tough competition upon its release on November 17. The film will be released on the same day as 'The Hunger Games: A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes', a prequel to the popular 'Hunger Games' franchise. While the Hunger Games films have been successful at the box office, 'Thanksgiving' could appeal to audiences seeking a horror movie experience, providing a viable alternative for the audience.

How to watch 'Thanksgiving'?

'Thanksgiving' will be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.

Trailer

The official trailer for 'Thanksgiving' hasn't been released yet. However, Sony Pictures shared a sneak peek of the film in the form of a teaser image, which features the ominous tagline "All will be carved," suggesting that audiences can expect a gory and frightening experience in the theater. MEAWW will keep you informed and update the story as soon as the trailer is released.
