'Tall Girl 2': Jodi gets her chance with Tommy but what did that kiss mean to her?

Netflix's 'Tall Girl 2' is a rollercoaster of emotions. Speaking of which, did anyone root for the 'Bye Bye Birdie' couple? It doesn't take rocket science to figure out that there is a distinctly flirty vibe to the interactions between Kim and Conrad.
On the pretext of landing their respective leads in the school play, there's almost an effortless level of understanding between the two. Could this be the start of something new? And then there was Jodi's romantic prospects to deal with. While on a practice run of the routine, Jodi (Ava Michelle) and Tommy (Jan Luis Castellanos) kiss. What lies in store for them? Read on!

Although Jody was technically broken up with Dunkleman, she still did have feelings for him. If he could safely keep a note that he wrote to her since second grade, isn't Dunkleman the person Jodi is supposed to end up with? Even so, this twist had viewers tying themselves in knots about the ultimate outcome.
A key observation is Tommy is carefree — the man dove headfirst into the flirting game with Jodi way before he even knew she was with someone. A tad too cocky, perhaps? Guess it's safe to say he has a way with the ladies.
Having said that, Tommy was also very understanding when Jodi explained her predicament at the bonfire night the day before the musical. The prep night would include letting go of any negative energy before the big day. After Tommy throws in a floral shirt from his days as an obese boy, Jodi throws the heels that were gifted to her by Dunkleman. He got her those to help celebrate her confidence for who she is. But within seconds, Jodi realizes she doesn't want to move on and breaks down while Kimmy saves her shoes from the fire. Tommy is also the one who suggests that she shouldn't give up on her ex. Tommy adds, "Because if you do, this pair of crispy ankle-strap platforms will be the only memory of your time together". The onstage couple shakes hands to a newfound friendship.
