'Syfy Wire's The Great Debate' panels have been a hit at comic-cons across the country for years but now with the coronavirus pandemic raging across the world, most of those conventions aren't being held this year. But the debates continue, nonetheless. Is the Bat-signal a terrible idea or an amazing one? Which is the worst third movie in a franchise and why is it 'X-Men: The Last Stand'? All these questions and more shall be answered by the funniest people in geekdom on the new 12-episode half-hour Syfy series 'Syfy Wire's The Great Debate'. Here's everything you need to know about the project:

Release date

'The Great Debate' will air its first episode on Thursday, June 18, at 11 pm ET.

Where to watch

The series will air on Syfy. The show was created by B17 Entertainment and is executive produced by Rhett Bachner and Brien Meagher with TJ Chambers serving as executive producer and showrunner.

Hosts

The debates shall be hosted by 'Mystery Science Theatre 3000' and 'Grace and Frankie' star Baron Vaughn. He is a popular comedian and actor and has appeared on numerous shows and a number of 'CollegeHumor' videos. His will be the final voice on 'The Great Debate'. Vaughn's co-host will be the droid DB-8.

Debaters

The show will feature a rotating cast of nerd-tastic celebrities, talking about the hottest questions in the multiverse. Debaters announced for the series include Orlando Jones, Mayim Bialik, Aisha Tyler, Adam Savage, Reggie Watts, Brian Posehn, Steelo Brim, Colton Dunn, Open Mike Eagle, Jonah Ray, Dani Fernandez, Maude Garrett, Brea Grant, Akilah Hughes, Matt Kirshen, Lauren Lapkus, Mike Lawrence, Yassir Lester, Amber Nash, Ify Nwadiwe, Janet Varney and the cast of 'Critical Role', among others.

Trailers

The first trailer for the upcoming series was released on May 5 and promises a lot of pop-culture hilarity. This very first preview features Jonah Ray asking the most important question of all: "What's cuter: Baby Yoda or a Baby Miyagi?"
