Drugs, alcohol, love, lust, bars and dining is not all that Tess' new flashy, glamorous life is filled with as it gets equally chaotic and beyond excruciating for all the attractions it reeks of
UPDATED JUL 11, 2019

Good news, fans of 'Sweetbitter'. The Starz show, based on Stephanie Danler’s best-selling book, will premiere this mid-July with a brand new second season, meaning more of Tess's life and troubles are going to unfurl in the coming future. The first time we saw the character played by Ella Purnell, she was a 22-year-old who had recently arrived in New York City and landed a job at a popular downtown restaurant right away. Thus she stumbled upon a world of drugs, alcohol, love, lust, dive bars and fine dining, but that's not all as this new flashy, glamorous life is equally chaotic and beyond excruciating for all the attractions it reeks of. So without further ado, here's all you need to know about season two:

Release date

'Sweetbitter' season 2 comes out on Sunday, July 14, at 9 PM ET/PT, only on Starz.

Plot

According to Deadline, in season 2, "Tess soon realizes she won’t survive at the restaurant if she doesn’t play the game. She experiences a sexual awakening, a discovery of her voice, and, ultimately, a recognition of her own power. Her colleagues Simone, Jake, and Howard are all trapped, by both the restaurant and each other, leaving Tess to question what she wants from the restaurant, and what it wants from her."
