'Supernatural' Season 15 Episode 7: Can Sam's injuries and nightmares help Castiel track God while Dean is on solo mission?

We saw the adverse effects of the shared bond between Sam and God already, especially with the shooting pain and the nightmares
PUBLISHED NOV 22, 2019

In the previously aired Season 15 Episode 6 of ‘Supernatural’ we saw Sam (Jared Padalecki) going solo for a case, and now it is his brother Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) turn to do the same. In the upcoming Season 15 Episode 7, we will see him chasing after a monster-of-the-week, even as Sam, along with Cas (Misha Collins) go after the elusive God (Rob Benedict), who has planned to destroy the world once and for all.

We learned in the previous episode that Sam is clueless about what happened between Dean and Cas, and has even been trying to reach out to his angel friend. While it seems like Dean and Cas have talked things out, for now, Sam and Cas will have a shot at working together again.

Based on the official synopsis for ‘Last Call’, it seems like Cas has a plan on tracking down God, and it will potentially have something to do with the fact that God and Sam have a link, which is created due to the shared injury on their respective shoulders.

As ‘Supernatural’ showrunner Andrew Dabb told CinemaBlend in an interview last month, “It's [the wound] going to have a big impact on him. Like we said at the end of last season, the gun shoots kind of a piece of your soul, and if a piece of your soul gets embedded in literally God, there are reverberations from that. If you think about a string connecting two cans, right, there are vibrations along the string, and I think that's gonna help them in some way. Maybe give them a little insight into what God is doing, but also it's not always fun to be hitched to a flaming comet as rides through the sky, so there are pros and cons I would say.”

We saw the adverse effects of the shared bond already, especially with the shooting pain and the nightmares. Hopefully, the upcoming Season 15 Episode 7 will show us the benefits of it.

Unfortunately, all this will have to wait, seeing as ‘Supernatural’ is going on a week-long hiatus, and will be back with Season 15 Episode 7 titled ‘Last Call’ on The CW on Thursday, December 5.
