'Supergirl' Season 5: Andrea Brooks' Eve Teschmacher reveals the truth about her past ties and loyalty towards the Leviathan
This article contains spoilers for 'Supergirl' season 5, episode 2: 'Stranger Beside Me'
Eve Teschmacher (Andrea Brooks) makes an appearance in the second episode and sheds light on Leviathan, the mysterious criminal organization. The former loyal henchwoman of Lex Luthor is shown to have gone into hiding, only to have been captured by Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). Eve wakes up in Lena's lab with a brain-mapping device attached to the side of her head and despite her attempts to explain that she was forced by the organization, Lena shuts her down.
Eve also reveals that 'they' (she still hasn't revealed names) were the ones who recruited her after paying off her debts and education fees implying that she was still loyal and partly scared of what the Leviathan would do. She also adds that she was with them since she was 16. While Lena takes into account all this, her mind was on finding a better purpose for Eve. For fans, however, Eve's piece of information comes across as revelations of her past and her ties with the nefarious organization.
Ultimately, Lena manages to install her AI, Hope, into Eve so that the combined duo could help Lena 'fix' humanity, thereby also suggesting that she wouldn't have the need to use Andrea Rojas' (Julia Gonzalo) Obsidian North Tech anymore as she has Hope/Eve by her side. In the episode's stinger, Hope approaches Lena, wearing an all-white outfit. "Hope?" Lena asks, to which Hope responds with her usual greeting: "Good morning, Ms. Luthor."
"Since Andrea Rojas took my lenses, we need a new plan," Lena explains. "Luckily, she confirmed my hypothesis about the interworking of her technology."
"We don't need Andrea's tech. With your help, I can build my own, and together we can rebuild humanity." At the moment, it is still unclear what Lena's plans of rebuilding humanity are, however, the episode does explain a bit more about the Leviathan.
