Rama Khan is still a formidable threat. Apart from this, Lex and Lena Luthor could be joining forces again and it might not be for the betterment of the world.

The world ended and was reborn again. While Kara aka Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) was more than happy to be reunited with her loved ones, she found herself in a universe where the sinister Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) was the hero. Not just that, in Alex's (Chyler Leigh) words, 'he was just the best'. He had also won a Nobel Prize. The cherry on the cake? He is Kara's boss. The 'Rebirth' of the multiverse had altered quite a few things, as the heroes of the Arrowverse are slowly realizing. And some changes, might just not be for the best.

Kara's nightmare doesn't seem to be over as yet. Like the Flash, if she thought her woes and foes had miraculously evaporated in the Post-Crisis world, she thought wrong. Remember the terrorist organization Leviathan that's still roaming around free? Rama Khan is still a formidable threat. Apart from this, Lex and Lena Luthor could be joining forces again and it might not be for the betterment of the world. In the latest teaser for the tenth episode of the fifth season,  Lex informs her that he can help keeping Leviathan at bay, and that he should not be blamed anymore for previous sins. Kara is still dubious and believes that he is still the only threat in the world.

Let's not forget that Lena is still nursing old wounds and has not forgotten that Kara kept her identity a secret from her. There was a LOT going on before the Crisis spread its pall of gloom, so Supergirl is going to be kept busy for the next couple of episodes, for sure. There is more to be explored with the Kara-Lena dynamic, and the writers seem to enjoy putting the two in a state of conflict.

The most worrying part is Lex emerging as a hero. Has he changed for the better? Or is he more evil than before? He might have been a Paragon during the Crisis (though he literally edited out Superman). But he did help in saving the universe and seemed to enjoy the mantle of being a superhero. "This is what being a superhero feels like," he says. This is a very unique character development for the character and it remains to be seen whether Lex strays from the path of good, or if he just has more devious plans up his sleeve.

'Supergirl' returns on January 19, on the CW.
