Ever since Zack Snyder announced that his vision of the 2017 DC film 'Justice League' will be released in 2021, there has been much support for David Ayer's film 'Suicide Squad' to get another chance. The film bombed in 2016, but fans are now slowly beginning to be convinced that a better version of the film exists, a version that will see more of Jared Leto's Joker.  The call for the Ayer Cut is growing louder.

A cynical user had tweeted, pointing out that a cut of 'Justice League' was required as a new director, Joss Whedon, had stepped in Snyder's place. They wrote, "Justice League had an entire change in director and plot details. Suicide squad’s editor might’ve changed, but trailer park was still working with footage filmed under Ayer’s control."

To which, Ayer simply responded, "Wrong."

Fans are perplexed with this answer and have responded, asking how so, while one wrote "Excuses."

Others were more supportive and tried to be fair to Ayer. "Mr. Ayer, I love you and your style BUT changes of SS was a little bit up to you. They were in your control but if they werent, you had to resign. I still want to #ReleaseTheAyerCut and I support you."

A fan tweeted, "I’m sorry this is happening to you david. Your movie up till release brought me so much joy. Thank you for bringing Harley to the big screen. Hopefully we get to see your vision one day, but either way you will always be one of the reasons Harley is so publicly known and loved."

"People should stop acting like they know something. You’re the man, David!" another cheered.

Meanwhile, a fan asked, "Who was your Joss Whedon?"  Whedon had stepped into see oversee 'Justice League', when Snyder had to step away. A fan wrote that 'Suicide Squad's 'cut' would just be a matter of editing, rather than actually new storylines, which Snyder's 'Justice League' promises. "But still there's no Apokolips stuff soo... , he kinda has a point, its just editing, which yes, it is very important but its not a 180° change."

Others pointed out his contradictory statements from the past, where he admitted the theatrical cut was his own. "That’s not what you said back when doing press for the movie. You said the theatrical cut was your cut, that you approved it, and that you were proud of it. Now years later it seems like just jumping on a trend so to salvage any good will left from the lousy end product."

Ayer had earlier reasoned with Collider, "We have a chunk, there’s definitely over 10 minutes of material on there. But this cut of the movie is my cut, there’s no sort of parallel universe version of the movie, the released movie is my cut. And that’s one of the toughest things about writing, shooting, and directing a film, is you end up with these orphans and you f---ing love them and you think they’d be amazing scenes and do these amazing things but the film is a dictatorship, not a democracy, and just because something’s cool and charismatic doesn’t mean it gets to survive in the final cut. The flow of the movie is the highest master."

"So you had no idea what scenes they removed and added? They must've had a director to make those scenes right?" another fan questioned.

Others said 'it's too soon' for the Ayer cut. "Guys, we just won the SnyderCut. We should focus on support Zack and make his version popular. And THEN asking to #ReleaseTheAyerCut, right now it's too soon," a fan wrote.

Well, do you want to see the Ayer Cut?
