LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Colin Farrell starrer 'Sugar,' streaming on Apple TV+, has drawn in audiences with its suspenseful storyline.

While the main plot revolves around Olivia Siegel's (Sydney Chandler) disappearance, the enigma surrounding John Sugar's past has equally intrigued viewers.

In the pilot episode of the Apple TV+ series,' John Sugar (Colin Farrell) agrees to meet legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel (James Cromwell) primarily because he is a fan of his movies.

Despite his close aide Ruby (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) advising against taking the case, what convinces Sugar to proceed is that Jonathan's missing granddaughter, Olivia, reminds him of his sister, Djen.

The episodes released so far do not reveal much about Djen, however, we see Sugar struggling with some haunting memories.

From what we can gather, Djen is not alive and Sugar has yet to come to terms with her death.

It is highly possible that Djen's death was sudden and tragic leading Sugar to probably blame himself for not being able to save her.

This would explain why he is so attached to Olivia's case, as he sees it as an opportunity to redeem himself.

Though these are just speculations, we expect to gain more clarity on what happened as the series progresses.

John Sugar's mysterious past serves as a significant hook in the series.

Kenny (Alex Hernandez) and Davy/David Siegel (Nate Corddry) are consistently digging into Sugar's past, raising suspicion since Sugar is only appointed to find Davy's sister, Olivia.

Kenny goes to further limits by seducing an NSA agent to access Sugar's records. Despite Sugar having no wife or children, a mention of his mother living in Arizona prompts Kenny and Davy to visit her.

In Episode 4, as Kenny and Davy will meet her mother, secrets of Sugar's past are likely to be unraveled.

'Sugar' Episode 4 will be released on April 19, exclusively on Apple TV+.
