'Succession' Season 3 finale: If not dead, will Kendall surrender to the authorties?

There's that possibility that Kendall may have lived and that might just add to Logan's woes if he decides to start life off on a clean slate

Jeremy Strong's Kendall Roy has an uncertain future heading into the 'Succession' finale. The episode, titled 'All The Bells Say' focuses on Lukas Matsson's vision for the GoJo-Waystar and that seems to have Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman (Kieran Culkin) divided. Logan (Brian Cox) is evaluating his options and that will be one of the plotlines of the final episode. However, there's no Kendall insight, and that further fuels the theory that he's dead after what transpired in the final minutes of Episode 8.

The painful 30 seconds in the final minute of Episode 8 hinted that Kendall was at the end of his tether. It wasn't an easy ride for the character in Season 3, but he was not spared despite waving the white flag and telling his father that he wanted nothing to do with the company.

That his father made Kendall's son taste the food thinking it was poisoned was probably the dagger that went the deepest. The final sniper shot was when he brought up the past of his son killing an employee. Kendall wasn't a pretty sight as he was shown to slowly drown in the pool and with zero glimpses of the character in the promo of episode 9, is it a subtle hint that Kendall didn't make it?

But what if Kendall isn't dead?

Conversely, there's that possibility that Kendall may have lived and that might just add to Logan's woes if he decides to start life off on a clean slate. With murder hanging over his head and his father rubbing it in for him, chances are that Kendall actually might come clean to the authorities. It's his way of redemption and this may be the plotline of Season 4 as well.

The other reason to believe he's made it is because the other characters shown in the finale promo seem oblivious to his 'speculated demise, or as insensitive as it seems, they may have moved on from it pretty quickly. Kendall hasn't been in the best state of mind and that was one of the talking points throughout Season 3. It all hit the ceiling when his 40th birthday celebration ended as a damp squib and he was pushed around by Roman. The ninth episode saw him attempt to cut things off with his father amicably, but it wasn't meant to be.

This brings us back to the actual question: What if Kendall made it?

'Succession' airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on HBO.
