‘Street Man Fighter’ just might be the most anticipated edition of Mnet’s dance survival show series. We first had ‘Street Woman Fighter’, the first dance competition of all-female crews in South Korea. Mnet provided a national platform and finally helped viewers acknowledge the backbone of the K-pop industry and the hardships of dancers and choreographers. Following its immense success, we have had the sequel ‘Street Dance Girls Fighter’ for teenage crews followed by ‘Street Man Fighter’.

But with several individual dancers showing an interest in the survival show, Mnet has announced the prequel ‘Be Mbitious’. Dancers can audition and get into the prequel survival show where they will compete to join a dance crew specifically formed for competing in ‘Street Man Fighter’. With ‘Be Mbitious’ set to air in May, auditions for it have begun with dancers creating choreography to Changmo’s ‘SMF’ and uploading it to their social media. However, three particular dancers -- Kasper, Samuel Kim, and Chae Woo-tae's audition clips have caught everyone’s attention.

Kasper, Chae Woo-tae, and Samuel Kim have similar auditions

One of the rules for auditioning for ‘Be Mbitious’ was that each dancer had to create choreography to Changmo’s ‘SMF’. However, many were surprised as Kasper, Samuel Kim and Chae Woo-tae ended up having the exact same choreography. Dancers and choreographers Kasper and Chae Woo-tae have created choreographies for several popular artists like SHINee and EXO, and in fact, collaborated together in the past which had many wondering if they came up with the audition dance together.

Samuel Kim, on the other hand, is an idol who almost debuted with Seventeen and Wanna One but ended up making a solo debut. He had also gone viral for creating a fun choreography with his team on the survival show ‘Produce 101 Season 2’. And so fans were surprised that all three of them ended up submitting similar audition clips to get one step closer to ‘Street Man Fighter’.

‘Seems like a publicity move’

Knetizens are confused as one asked, “So did Mnet allow co-production?” Another user posted, “Just disqualify all 3.” One felt that Mnet might have something to do with it, “Seems like a publicity move by mnet, I mean it’s kinda impossible to dance to almost same choreography just by pure coincidence, they definitely co-produce it.”

Another user wondered, “Unless im missing something in the translation it doesn't say you can't choreograph it together? Idk WHY they would do that tho, they would stand out way more if they just did the whole choreo themselves.. but who knows, maybe they were a last minute addition..” One shared, “Got to give it to mnet for knowing how to mediaplay. Yall really expecting 2 well known choreographer and sameul to dance to the same piece for no reason lol. Would they really do themselves dirty? Like really come on its f**king mnet. Smh.”
