Stray Kids 'Oddinary' sees most 1st-week sales, charts on UK Official for 1st time
Stray Kids is breaking all kinds of records with their sixth mini-album ‘Oddinary’. It already became their best-selling album when it reached 1.3 million pre-orders. They got their highest first-day sales ever as the album crossed 496k sales in South Korea and just a couple of hours later reached 676k sales. So it was no surprise when ‘Oddinary’ made a total of 850k sales in its first week.
This is Stray Kids’ highest first-week sales for any of their albums. ‘Oddinary’ also topped the Hanteo Daily Chart. They are the seventh boy group with the most first-week sales following the likes of BTS, Seventeen, NCT’s sub-units and EXO. On March 26, Stray Kids also charted high on several international charts like Billboard and UK’s Official Charts.

Stray Kids make their debut on UK’s Official Charts
Stray Kids charted at #3 with the lead single ‘Maniac’ debuting on Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs Chart on March 26. The K-pop group also charted on the Spotify Weekly Top Songs USA and are the only ones to do so following BTS, Blackpink and (G)I-DLE. Stray Kids entered UK’s Official Albums Chart for the first time too, as 'Oddinary' debuted at #95. It also charted on UK’s Independent Albums Chart at #34. Meanwhile, the lead single, ‘Maniac’ has debuted at #98 on the Official Singles Chart which is also Stray Kids’ first time entering this particular chart.
‘Oddinary’ is also at #13 on the Official Album Downloads Chart and #82 on the Official Album Sales Chart. ‘Maniac’ on the other hand debuted at #54 on the Official Single Sales Chart and Official Single Downloads Chart. Additionally, Stray Kids got their first music show win for ‘Maniac’ right on their fourth debut anniversary. Also their 12th career win, they won on March 25 on the KBS music show ‘Music Bank’. The album ‘Oddinary’ had also topped iTunes in 57 regions while approximately crossing 115k sales in USA.
‘Oddinary’ continues to be successful
This has led to industry experts predicting that Stray Kids is set to get their very first #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. The album had also topped South Korea’s Gaon Album Weekly Chart and debuted on Japan Oricon and Billboard Japan. 'Oddinary' also ranked at #1 on Japan’s Line Music Album Chart in real-time. Stray Kids even crossed a total of 200 million streams on the Korean music platform MelOn.
Meanwhile, the comeback had been hindered as six out of the eight members had tested positive around the time of the album’s release. But on March 25, Stray Kids' label, JYPE shared that the members had recovered and would resume their promotional activities and music show performances.
