Is Will the real villain? 3 wild ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 theories we think might come true
'Stranger Things' Season 5's fan theories are dime-a-dozen, but some speculations have been purely wild, yet believable. With the show set to release on November 26, social media and Reddit platforms have been filled with speculations about the final season of the hit Netflix show. Ahead of the series' release, here's a look at some of the theories doing the rounds.
Is Will Byers the villain?
In theories doing the rounds, Noah Schnapp's Will Byers has been looked at as the character forced to help Vecna, much like how he was looked at as a secondary antagonist in season 2. However, fan speculations say Will might be under the influence of an even powerful entity before Vecna's arrival. Tiamat is looked at as the ultimate evil, as the three-headed dragon, and Will draws pictures of all the monsters in the UD. Tiamat is a notable character. This adds more fuel to the possibility that Will could be the villain.
Has Mike been imagining the whole thing?
One of the theories has been about how the entire sequence of events is indeed a figment of Mike Wheeler's (Finn Wolfhard) imagination. Mike hallucinating about Will's disappearance after Season 1 has been well-documented, and some believe Will really did die in the first instalment and his grieving friend perhaps had visions. That said, there is also that possibility that this is one of the most far-fetched speculations.
Dr Brenner and Vecna
In what has been a believable theory, fans have theorized that Matthew Modine's Dr Brenner and Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) have a deep connection. Some fans have noted that Vecna's facial cracks are sinilar to Brenner's scars and that lack of evidence of his death has a connection. There have been rumors that Henry did spare Brenner during season 4's battle and that the latter enters the Rainbow Room after Eleven sends Henry into the UD. This theory talks of a time loop where Henry's fall sent him back into the past as Brenner.
