Ardent ‘Stranger Things’ fans, especially the young bracket, have recently been trying to cancel the iconic rock metal band ‘Metallica’ on TikTok over alleged racist behavior. For the unversed, Metallica has gained a new global bunch of fans in recent months, thanks to the resurgence of their 1986 hit track titled ‘Master Of Puppets’ after its inclusion in Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things.’ Things were looking great, but as of last week, some of their newly-gained fanbase has begun changing their tune.

While the show has become the Netflix’s most loved and commercially successful series this year, currently a bunch of young fans are on a mission to cancel the iconic '80s musical icons. Well-known TikToker Serena Trueblood's video post from last weekend on Tiktok which has got almost 39.5K likes showed her talking about Metallica’s previous bassist, Jason Newsted, who was seen performing a Nazi salute and march on stage. There are glimpses of other band members as well, in which they appear to share jokes with a crowd about the then-recent passing of Kurt Cobain.

Furthermore, in Serena's video, James Hetfield, lead singer of Metallica, is also accused of racist behavior. It was this specific video on Tiktok that triggered 'Stranger Things' fans to cancel the metal rock music band because they just got to know their problematic history and past.

Soon enough the Metallica canceled party also started trending on Twitter as well. But some fans have finally weighed in on the entire raging controversy and many of them are feeling amused and comical that a bunch of young fans are trying to cancel an iconic metal rock music band that doesn’t need this clout to survive and has been canceled several times in their past.

“Metallica getting cancelled by stranger things fans was extremely predictable, it was nice while it lasted i guess,” a fan said. “Nothing on twitter recently has been as funny as metallica getting cancelled by tiktok,” another fan added. “I'm sure the guys of Metallica are just shaking in their boots about being cancelled by a bunch of kids that only discovered who they are last month and their discovery of the bad shit the band has done but has been public knowledge for decades, which they have learned from,” a fan noted. “Not Metallica getting cancelled on tiktok,” noted a fan. “Metallica was doing just fine before stranger things, cancelling them will do nothing. older fans aren’t going to go on a witch-hunt and burn their merch like you think they are,” shared a fan.
