Actor Sterling K Brown is well-known for portraying the role of Randall Pearson in NBC's popular show 'This is Us'. The actor announced Monday on his Instagram account that he would be joining the cast of 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel'. The actor shared a video in which he said, "I'm eastward bound, going to do a little TV show. Maybe you've heard of it? The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. (Executive producers) Amy (Sherman-Palladino) and Daniel (Palladino) were kind enough to write a little something for your boy and I said yes. So, stay tuned. I'm getting together with Midge and it's going to be awesome."
From what he has said so far, it looks like Sterling might be romantically involved with Midge, and this also makes us wonder if the actor would be guest starring. 'Shazam!' actor Zachary Levi did something similar when he appeared in the previous season as Midge's romantic interest.
Brown captioned the video, "I’m beyond excited to share some pretty marvelous news... #MrsMaisel, I’m coming for you!" MaiselTV, the official Instagram page of the Amazon Prime Original also shared the same video and wrote, "Just when you thought this cast couldn't be more marvelous... @SterlingKBrown is officially on board for Season 3 of #MrsMaisel."
Brown previously won an Emmy for his performance in 'This is Us' and also his performance as prosecutor Christopher Darden in the 2016 show 'The People v. O. J. Simpson'. His role in 'This is Us' fetched him a Golden Globe as well. As Randall, Brown portrayed the role of an adopted son and a brother, who is black and essentially living with a white family. The series itself switches between moments in the past and present as it narrates the story of Randall and his two siblings Kevin and Kate.
