'Starting Point of Dating': Release date, plot and cast featuring Apink’s Hayoung, Kang In-soo and Choi Jung-won

Apink fans have a new show to be super excited about! The popular South Korean girl group’s member and K-pop idol Hayoung will be starring as the lead of a new K-drama, along with Korean singer, Kang In-soo and ‘Witch’s Castle’ famed Choi Jung-won. The new project titled ‘Starting Point of Dating’ (that's the literal translation) will reportedly be a romantic comedy drama series.

Prior to this, Apink’s Hayoung has been seen in the web-series ‘Love in Time’ (2018), a romantic sci-fi comedy where a brain hacker goes in time to save his girlfriend Yu Ha-ri played by Hayoung from dying. Along with Hayoung, ‘Starting Point Of Dating’ will also feature the award-winning actress Choi Jung-won and singer Kang In-soo.

Plot

‘Starting Point of Dating’ will be based on a full-fledged love story of a young, free-spirited college student Choi Soo Yeon played by Hayoung who lives with her uncle after her parents passed away in a fatal car accident when she was a child. Hayoung’s lead pair, the male protagonist Kang In-Soo plays the role of a well-behaved cafe owner Kye Han-sol. Choi Jung-won will be portraying the role of a musical diva Yoo In-hae who adores Choi Soo-yeon as if she was her own daughter. The drama will unfold the bizarre mishaps and confusion after a phone has been lost.

Hayoung



 

24-year-old Apink’s Hayoung will play the leading role of a college student Choi Soo-yeon. Hayoung debuted as the third member of the K-pop girl-group Apink in 2011. Along with her successful K-pop career, Hayoung appeared in a number of variety shows plus hosting TV shows, and more. She starred in 2016’s web drama ‘Brother Jeongnam’ which later changed its name to ‘Please Find Her’. Haypung has also played the lead role in 2018’s hit web series ‘Live In time’.

Kang In-soo



 

Kang In-soo will be playing the role of Kye Han So, a charming cafe owner. The K-pop singer of the group ‘MYNAME’ has acted in quite a few projects prior to this including ‘Wish You: Your Melody From My Heart’.

Choi Jung-won will be playing the role of musical diva Yoo In-hae who loves and adores Choi Soo Yeon. The award-winning actress has been seen in a number of critically acclaimed projects including family drama ‘Famous Princesses’ (2006), historical epic ‘The Kingdom of the Winds’ (2008), romantic comedy ‘Stars Falling from the Sky’ (2010), and medical drama ‘Brain’, mystic drama ‘Witch’s Castle’.

The new project ‘Starting Point of Dating’ will be directed by the popular actor Kim Seung-woo who made his debut as a director with ‘Bring Me Home’ along with writing the project as well. The drama will be co-produced by The Queen AMC and Mystery Friends.

Release date
