It is 'Star Wars Day' and fans have every reason to celebrate as there are new details of upcoming films trickling in.

One of them includes Robert Rodriguez who confirmed he had indeed directed an episode of 'The Mandalorian' Season 2. In addition, he also tweeted the first look of Baby Yoda in season 2. The image sees the tiny adorable tot sitting comfortably in the cockpit of the Razor Crest. "I am truly humbled to say I have now had the very rare privilege of directing the biggest star in the universe. @StarWars #TheMandalorian #MayThe4th #StarWarsDay," he captioned the tweet.

This news sees Rodriguez join an ensemble list of directors that include— Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Jon Favreau. In another bit of related news, where it seems to be a confirmation, director Peyton Reed teased fans with a photo on Twitter of a director's chair with his name on it and a Mandalorian helmet sitting on top of it. That's just adding one more director to the roster.

'The Mandalorian' is set five years after the events of 'Return of the Jedi' and 25 years prior to the events of 'The Force Awakens'. It follows the title character, the Mandalorian/ Din Djarin, and his exploits beyond the reaches of the New Republic.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, 'The Mandalorian' got a 93% approval rating for the first season. The website's critical consensus reads, "Action-packed and expertly crafted—if at times a bit too withholding—The Mandalorian is a welcome addition to the Star Wars universe that benefits greatly from the cuteness of its cargo."

'The Mandalorian' stars Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian, Gina Carano as Cara Dune, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Carl Weathers as Greef Carga, Werner Herzog as The Client and Emily Swallow as The Armorer. And, of course, the cuddly-cuddly 50-year-old, Baby Yoda is set to return in Season 2 as well.

What are your thoughts on the first look of Baby Yoda from Season 2?

'The Mandalorian' is currently streaming on Disney+.
