It is Star Wars Day and to celebrate one of the most iconic days in pop-culture, fans and celebs across the world paid tribute to some of their favorite shows, films and characters.

One of them was Rian Johnson, the director of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' who shared behind-the-scenes photos on Twitter during his time of helming the project.

The photos see Frank Oz bringing Yoda to life. Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker, John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran are also present singing 'Broom Boy', Kylo Ren and Luke's showdown on Crait and Anthony Daniels out of his C-3PO costume could be seen. The caption read: "ahhhh FEEL THE LOVE."

Johnson shared many of these awe-inspiring images that he captured on set over the years. According to Comicbook, fans have also been enamored enough to attempt crowdfunding a book with all the images. Johnson had even told a fan on Twitter last year that the images will come through more "official ways" after some point.

Ahead of the release of 'The Last Jedi', Lucasfilm announced Johnson would be developing a trilogy of 'Star Wars' films that would be disconnected from the Skywalker Saga. Recently, it was announced Taika Waititi would be developing a film for the series.

Disney currently has three 'Star Wars' release dates secured in December 2022, December 2024, and December 2026, although no word has come of what films will occupy these release dates.

The last 'Star Wars' film was 'Rise of the Skywalker' that marked the final chapter of the Skywalker saga directed by JJ Abrams. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the acting, action sequences, musical score and visual effects, but criticized the story, pacing and perceived departures from the plot and themes of 'The Last Jedi'.

It grossed over $1.074 billion worldwide, becoming the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2019.

The film follows Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron as they lead the Resistance's final stand against Kylo Ren and the First Order, who are now aided by the return of the deceased galactic emperor, Palpatine.
