'Spenser Confidential': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about the Netflix film
The upcoming Netflix thriller drama is a loose adaptation of 'Wonderland' by author Ace Atkins and includes character names created by author Robert B Parker. After the murders of two Boston police officers, Spencer an ex-cop recruits an MMA fighter and his ex-girlfriend to uncover the conspiracy that is linked to their deaths.

Plot
Netflix’s official synopsis reads “Spenser (Mark Wahlberg) — an ex-cop better known for making trouble than solving it — just got out of prison and is leaving Boston for good. But first he gets roped into helping his old boxing coach and mentor, Henry (Alan Arkin), with a promising amateur. That's Hawk (Winston Duke), a brash, no-nonsense MMA fighter convinced he'll be a tougher opponent than Spenser ever was. When two of Spenser’s former colleagues turn up murdered, he recruits Hawk and his foul-mouthed ex-girlfriend, Cissy (Iliza Shlesinger), to help him investigate and bring the culprits to justice.”

Mark Wahlberg
Wahlberg, an actor, producer, businessman, model, rapper, singer and songwriter has been critically acclaimed for his contribution to the entertainment industry. Some of his major roles include 'The Departed (2006),' 'The Fighter (2010),' and fan-favorite 'Ted' (2012).
Winston Duke
Duke is most recently known for his epic role as Gabe Wilson in Jordan Peele's 'Us' and largely recognized for his role as M’Baku from 'Black Panther' and 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame'
Other cast embers include Post Malone, Bokeem Woodbine, Marc Maron and Colleen Camp.
Creators
The movie was directed by Peter Berg marking the fifth time that he has collaborated with Mark Wahlberg. Berg's directional credits include 'Lone Survivor,' 'Deepwater Horizon,' 'Patriots Day' and 'Mile 22', all of which star Wahlberg. Sean O'Keefe and Brian Helgeland have writing credits for the film.
