'South Side' Season 2: 5 things you need to know about HBO Max comedy series
HBO Max comes back with Season 2 of 'South Side', with the return of Simon James (played by Sultan Salahuddin) and Kareme Odom (played by Kareme Young) who are fresh graduates from the local community college, ready for the real world! But it's safe to say that their expectations come nowhere near reality. The two friends have started looking up business ideas and the success that comes with it, while working at a rented shop.
On Comedy Central, the show premiered in July of 2019, after which the series was renewed for a second season of 10 episodes. Season 2 of 'South Side' will be airing HBO Max in November 2021, making the show a Max Original. Created by Sultan, Bashir Salahuddin, and Diallo Riddle, 'South Side' Season 2 is shot in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago.

Sultan Salahuddin as Simon James
Sultan Salahuddin is both a writer and actor, known for his roles on 'South Side' and 'Black-ish'. Sultan plays the character Simon James, the lead in the comedy series, who is continuously looking for new ways to improve the quality of his life. Sultan is also a member of the Los Angeles Writers Guild Association, Screen Actors Guild, and the Upright Citizens Brigade (Los Angeles, CA) and has even performed as a stand-up comedian!
The rest of the cast includes Kareme Young as Kareme Odom, Chandra Russell as Sergeant Turner, Bashir Salahuddin as Officer Goodnight, Zuri Salahuddin as Stacy, Quincy Young as Quincy Odom and Diallo Riddle as Allen Gayle.
