'Songland' is returning for Season 2, and if you think you couldn't be more excited, just wait till you get to know the superstars who will be appearing on the show looking for their next big hit.

The series first premiered last year in May and was an immediate big hit that revolved around budding songwriters who are given the chance to create a hit song and will be mentored by three judges.

The famed reality TV series will return in just around a month. Here is everything you need to know about Season 2 of 'Songland':

Release Date

'Songland' Season 2 will premiere on April 13 on NBC. 

Plot

According to the network, "The series' innovative format takes an inside look at the creative process behind songwriting and each episode provides one up-and-coming songwriter the opportunity to have their song recorded by a chart-topping artist and released immediately after the episode airs worldwide."

Judges

Shane McAnally

Shane McAnally is one of the judges and a producer on 'Songland'. He is a three-time Grammy award-winning songwriter and record producer. To date, Shane has earned around 38 #1 singles. In 2015, he was named the Hot Country Songwriter of the Year. 

Ryan Tedder

Ryan Tedder is the lead vocalist of the famed band, One Republic, that includes guitarists Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle and drummer Eddie Fisher. Their first debut was released in 2007 titled 'Dreaming Out Loud'. Ryan is also a songwriter and record producer. He has written songs and produced them for artists that include Adele, Anitta, Backstreet Boys, Beyoncé, Big Time Rush, Camila Cabello, Charlie Puth and Demi Lovato among others. 

Ester Dean 

Ester Dean is a famed Grammy Award-nominated songwriter, record producer, singer and actress. Ester has written and produced a slew of hits for artists that include, 'Firework' by Katy Perry, 'Rude Boy' by Rihanna, 'Super Bass' by Nicki Minaj, 'Mr. Know It All' by Kelly Clarkson and 'Come & Get It' by Selena Gomez.
