LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Season 4 of Netflix's 'Snowpiercer' continues to explore the struggle for survival as fresh adversities emerge.
The final season opened with Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) and his team successfully establishing a colony on the wheels in New Eden, despite the odds.
Episode 2 shifts the focus back to Melanie Cavill's Snowpiercer, revealing what has transpired over the past nine months leading up to the present day.
What happens in 'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Episode 2?
Admiral Anton Milius (Clark Gregg) and his men have forcibly boarded the train, forcing Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) to surrender the engine by threatening to kill Ben.
After relinquishing control of the engine, Ben (Iddo Goldberg) and Melanie secretly devise a plan to reclaim it while ensuring the safety of the passengers.
As Melanie finally returns to the engine, she meets a scientist, named Nima, whom she recognizes before the freeze.
He reveals that he and other scientists developed a compound designed to trigger the denaturation of CW7 in the upper atmosphere, causing it to fall from the sky.
Melanie realizes that Nima's efforts created six warm spots on Earth, including New Eden. Nima explains that despite their progress, their attempts will fail because the equator remains frozen. Therefore, they need the train to launch the compound from the opposite side of the plane
Trusting Nima and his discovery, Melanie decides to join the mission, despite her lack of faith in Admiral Milius.
Meanwhile, Ben tries to send Bess Till (Mickey Sumner) to New Eden via the suspension carriage but instead, Audrey (Lena Hall) takes up the mission.
As Audrey finally reaches New Eden and is revived by Andre, she warns him about everything that's been happening on Snowpiercer.
What to expect in 'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Episode 3?
In Episode 1, Andre's daughter, Liana, is kidnapped by Admiral Milius's men. Now, learning that Melanie has surrendered the engine, Andre resolves to take charge and regain control of the situation.
Andre is still unsure why the Admiral abducted his child and is anxious about what might happen to Snowpiercer in the coming days.
Desperate to find his daughter, he realizes he needs Big Alice for the search. However, since Big Alice is vital for sustaining life in New Eden, this will inevitably lead to conflicts.
The official synopsis for 'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Episode 3 reads, "Layton demands to use Big Alice to rescue Liana; Ruth, now mayor of New Eden, refuses because it's the town's power supply; Layton makes Javi jury-rig a solution, giving them three weeks of electricity."

Fresh episodes of 'Snowpiercer' are dropped on AMC+ every Sunday. As per the schedule, Episode 3 of 'Snowpiercer' Season 4 will air on August 4, 2024.
