With murder, mystery and madness aplenty, TNT's 'Snowpiercer' presents a thrilling ride. Going into the show's fourth episode, things look a lot more tense and complex than ever and we've got more questions than we could possibly find answers for.

Episode 3 'Access is Power' ended on something of a cliffhanger with the reveal that Erik (Matt Murray), bodyguard to the Folger family, may have been the murderer who started this whole mess and caused Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) to get pulled out of the train and made the train detective.

He ended the episode by smashing two people's heads in with a hammer and preparing to do the same to the recently awakened Nicolette "Nikki" Genêt (Madeleine Arthur).

There's always the chance that Erik is just a crazed murderer without a hidden agenda but come on, everyone on the Snowpiercer has an agenda.

We've had some hints that Lilah Folger (Kerry O'Malley) and her husband may not actually know anything about Erik's crimes but their daughter LJ Folger (Annalise Basso) does seem to know more than she lets on.

For all we know, LJ might be the real head of the train's drug business. That would explain her frequent trips to Third Class and Erik's involvement in the whole business. It seems a bit unlikely but it is a possibility, though it is just as possible that LJ and Erik may be partners, trying to find a way to move out from under Lilah's thumb.

In any case, the chances of Erik acting alone are pretty low. He doesn't appear to have any clear motive to commit two gruesome and seemingly unconnected murders and then kill even more people to cover it up when his own security on the train is dependent on the fickle Folgers.

One way or the other, we should be getting more information soon enough when Episode 4 'Without Their Maker' finally arrives.

Here's the synopsis for the upcoming episode: "A shocking twist in the murder investigation brings Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Till's (Mickey Sumner) manhunt to a cat-and-mouse climax. But Layton is getting too close to Melanie's (Jennifer Connelly) big secret, which may prove the most dangerous game of all."

'Snowpiercer' airs on Sundays at 9 pm on TNT.
