TNT's series adaptation of 'Snowpiercer' is barrelling on into its second episode. With the stage set and all the players identified, the biggest question going into Episode 2 'Prepare to Brace' is what vengeance the train's authorities shall take against the Tail for its failed rebellion in the first episode.

At the end of Episode 1, Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) managed to negotiate for the rebels to be spared in exchange for his services as the train detective but Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) still decreed that an arm shall be taken as a punishment. This could come from literally anyone, man, woman or child, whom the authorities see fit to punish for the transgressions of the Tail as a whole.

Publically amputating a Tailey is a pretty harsh statement in itself but chances are they won't stop there. The Snowpiercer's fragile peace is maintained through absolute cruelty and we're pretty certain that the Tail will have more horrors visited upon them before this story ends.

Then there's the whole murder to worry about. It looks like Layton will investigate the brutal killing with all his skill but his real loyalty is still with the Tail. Considering the fragile position he is in, Andre is one mistake away from being tortured, imprisoned, or worse.

But in any case, all these tortures and acts of cruelty are only going to strengthen the Tail's resolve and their determination to overthrow the ruling classes. With each arm the authorities take, they're really just hastening their own doom and the coming revolution. It's not just the Tail that the Melanie and the rest of the authorities have to worry about though.

Tensions are clearly rising among the first-class passengers as well with the fear of revolution making all of them quite jittery. Who knows what they might do if things get out of hand?

And then there is the question of the killer who pulled off such a horrifying murder. Chances are, they're still out there and they may not hesitate to take more lives before Andre manages to figure out who they are.

Here's the synopsis for the episode, "Layton (Daveed Diggs) uses his new position as train detective to investigate the murder while gathering intel for the revolution on the side. Meanwhile, Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) faces a resource crisis, with potentially drastic consequences for the entire train."

'Snowpiercer' airs Sundays at 9 pm ET exclusively on TNT.
