Spoilers for 'Snowpiercer' Season 1 Episode 7 'The Universe is Indifferent'

As TNT's Snowpiercer' inches closer to the end of Season 1, Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) is beginning to lose control of the train and she doesn't even know the extent to which the sand has shifted from under her feet. Beset by enemies on all sides, Melanie's power and position seem ready to topple at any moment and it's only a matter of time before her life itself comes under threat.

The Tail has been gearing up for revolution since the very beginning of the show and in Episode 7 'The Universe is Indifferent', they gain some important allies. Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) finally uses Melanie's secret to sway Third Class to join his insurrection and there are more threats brewing further up-train as well.

In the episode, we see Ruth Wardell (Alison Wright) approached by Commander Grey (Timothy V. Murphy) and the Folgers to join them in petitioning Mr Wilford to remove Melanie from her position. Though the faithful Ruth attempts to warn Melanie, the head of hospitality is too preoccupied with her hunt for Layton to pay attention to the coup fomenting in First Class.

What's worse, with the death of Josie Wellstead (Katie McGuinness), Layton has nothing left to lose and in the final moments of the episode, he reveals to LJ Folger (Annalise Basso) that Mr. Wilford isn't on the train and Melanie is the one actually pulling the strings. There's no telling what havoc LJ will be able to wreak with this information but it could be the final nail in the delicate order that Melanie has worked so hard to maintain on the train.

The board is set for rebellion and one way or another, Melanie's days are numbered. The revolution is imminent, the revolution is inevitable, and the revolution will be televised.

Here's the synopsis for Episode 7 'The Universe is Indifferent', "On a divided Snowpiercer, Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) intensifies her search for Layton (Daveed Diggs). Meanwhile, Layton is weaponizing her secret, and Third Class faces a reckoning when he presents them with a choice."

'Snowpiercer' airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on TNT.
