FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA: 'Sisters Wives' Season 18 stars Robyn and Kody Brown's daughter Ariella turned 7 years old this year but she still uses a pacifier. The TLC show's upcoming episode's preview sparked concern among the viewers as they spotted a 'disturbing' detail.
In the preview of the new episode, half of the Brown family gathered separately for the holidays, fueled even more tension. However, Kody celebrated the holiday with Robyn, their kids, and his first wife, Meri, while his other wives, Janelle, and Christine, did their own thing.
In the teaser, Kody's kids expressed their excitement as they seemingly spotted some Christmas surprises. However, Ariella particularly caught the viewers' attention as she was sucking on a pacifier.
A Reddit user started a thread noting, "Ariella pacifier… 5-7? Even if this is 2 years old." Another person said, "Omg. As a mother of a newly turned 2 year old im getting ready to get rid of them. This is horrifying."
Another social media user wrote, "I noticed this as well. She’s now at an age where this is truly unacceptable and ridiculous. If this is an indicator where she is at developmentally…" Another critic commented, "It is going to be so much harder to break this habit now."
Another viewer penned, "The only acceptable reason for a child of that age to have a “soother”, would be if they were possibly neurodivergent (I’m not saying she is but, who knows?). And they make age appropriate chew toys for kids of that age who need them."
When should a child ditch a pacifier?
Children should give up their pacifiers by the age of two, according to Healthline. However, there is no medical reason why a child cannot continue to use a pacifier until the age of four or five.
According to the reports, one should throw out the pacifier before age 3 to reduce the child's risk of dental malocclusions. It is medically important for the pacifier to go before a child's adult teeth start coming in to prevent them from coming in properly.
Did 'Sisters Wives' star Kody Brown hit Ariella publicly?
'Sisters Wives' star Kody Brown reportedly smacked Ariella back in June. The noted blogger, Without A Crystal Ball, revealed that Kody and Robyn, with their five kids, were at a museum in Wyoming.
However, Kody and Robyn were busy and had told their son Dayton to look after the younger kids. But Ariella got a bit carried away while talking to another family.
Kody allegedly got angry at his youngest daughter and told Ariella to stay out of the baby's face. Apparently, Kody pulled his daughter away and hit her for not being away from the baby and waving at them.
How many kids do 'Sisters Wives' couple Robyn and Kody Brown share?
Kody Brown has adopted Robyn's three kids from her previous marriage to David Jessop, Dayton, Breanna, and Aurora. However, the couple also share two biological children of their own, Solomon and Ariella.
Robyn and Kody welcomed their first son together, Solomon, in October 2011. Meanwhile, the couple welcomed Ariella Brown, the youngest of the Brown family, in January 2016.
