'Sister Wives' alum Kody Brown called 'self victim' as he lashes out at fan while addressing divorce

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA: Reality TV star and patriarch of the Brown family from 'Sister Wives,' Kody Brown, finds himself in hot water yet again. The ongoing troubles for him show no signs of abating.

Recently, he faced backlash from the internet for responding harshly to a fan who merely inquired about his close relationship with Robyn Brown.

Kody Brown was in a polygamous marriage setting with Robyn Brown, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown. However, as of 2023, only Robyn and Kody are still together. 

The fan's comment conveyed, "I think it's awesome that you guys found each other and just want to be together. I think you should own it and say that."

In response to the fan's comment, Kody retorted, "I think you're a victim of 20 hours of our life for just 365 days," but his reply was interrupted by Robyn, who affectionately covered Kody's mouth with her hand. She urged him, saying, "Please stop! Please be nice."

Following that, Kody continued, saying, "Listen, we didn't want our family to break up, isn't that obvious," while Robyn reassured Kody, stating, "I know, but he's (the fan) not trying to be rude."

Kody addressed the fan by saying, "You are reading too many tabloids; we didn't want this breakup. I didn't want this breakup."

Robyn attempted to balance the situation by saying, "I know, but he wasn't being rude," to which Kody responded, "I can't tell."

Kody then stated, "We like each other, and that's true."

As Robyn persistently asserted that the fan was not being rude, Kody apologized and said, "Listen, I have been through three divorces in three years."

One user commented about Kody and said, "He makes me sick!".

Another wrote, "He’s so slimy".

Comments directed criticism toward Robyn as well, with statements like, "She wanted him all to herself, and now she can have him... careful what you wish for" and "Of course, Robyn, he's all yours... enjoy." 

While other comments asked Robyn and Kody to stop playing the victim card. It read, "We like each other?!?! Wow that’s beginning to start to sound like he’s acting it with her now too, is the next victim in his sights?!" and "Typical narcissist behavior always playing the victim, never taken accountability for his actions."

'Sister Wives' Kody Brown blamed for divorce with Janelle Brown

Janelle and Kody tied the knot in 1993 and have six children together. Despite three decades of marriage, they eventually decided to separate.

Following their divorce, mutual blame ensued, with Kody attributing the separation to Janelle's strong career focus, while Janelle, in turn, accused Kody of various issues.

The split coincided with Christine Brown's divorce from Kody, coupled with her choice to relocate to Utah, leaving her children behind.

This situation brought Janelle closer to Christine's children and created a distance between her and Kody. There were also several other factors contributing to their separation.

Tensions escalated during the COVID-19 pandemic when Kody attempted to label Janelle as a "Covid denier" for not strictly adhering to his rules.

The conflict reached a point where Kody became estranged from his children with Janelle. Matters soured further when Savannah was excluded from a Christmas gathering.

Additionally, Kody pressured Janelle to purchase her ex's house despite her desire to have her own home in Coyote Pass.

Meri Brown tied the knot with Kody Brown in 1990, but in 2014, they decided to end their marriage, officially separating in January 2023.

During their marriage, Meri expressed feeling neglected and asserted that she did not receive sufficient attention or respect.

Meri was taken aback by Kody's deep affection for Robyn, expressing that she did not feel loved to the same extent that Robyn is now.

Meri's relationship with Kody soured significantly after his marriage to Robyn. The lack of intimacy between Meri and Kody intensified, and a catfishing scandal further strained their connection, ultimately becoming a key factor in their decision to separate.

'Sister Wives' Christine Brown left Kody Brown for being 'too close' to Robyn Brown

Christine Brown ended her 26-year-old plural marriage with Kody Brown as she found it hard to stay with someone who did not respect her.

The turning point in their relationship occurred in September 2020 when their 19-year-old daughter underwent significant surgery to correct her scoliosis, requiring travel to New Jersey.

Despite the circumstances, Kody declined to join them, citing COVID-19 concerns, which deeply hurt Christine.

Apart from this prime reason, there were other reasons too. Christine confirmed that their relationship lacked intimacy and they even didn't share a bed.

Christine blamed Robyn's closeness with Kody for their divorce. Kody seemed to be mushy with Robyn even in front of the other wives. It seemed like Kody was infatuated with Robyn and couldn't stay away from her.
