Who is Sierra Gates?
One of the main cast members on the show, Gates, owns The Glam Shop, a beauty salon. Gates was initially a part of the supporting cast since Season 6; however, she became a permanent star from season 9 onwards.
Her storyline back in Season 6 revealed that her then-husband, Shooter, was having an affair with her assistant. In Season 7 of the show, the couple split, and she began dating rapper BK Brasco.
Why did Gates and Brasco call off their engagement?
In December 2020, Brasco proposed to gates with a six-carat diamond ring from Essex Fine Jewelry, at the grand opening of his Band of Brothers boutique in Atlanta, as reported by Page Six. At the time, she spoke about how after five years of dating, they were ready to tie the knot.
"It really hit me like, wow, he's about to have a store. This is our fifth year of being in a relationship and I was like, I need a ring," Gates explained, referring to the engagement. "This is a big business and me and BK, we are a couple. I did not want to be a part of something that I wasn't getting 50-50 on. When you're dating, nothing is promised. So I need to be a wife, not a girlfriend anymore." she added.
The couple was even celibate for an entire year before their engagement. Gates spoke to Madame Noire about how it helped strengthen their relationship. "Honestly, I promise y'all, once we took that sex out of the equation, we found a deeper love for each other. Inseparable. We can lay next to each other. Most people like to be physical with each other." she explained. "We can lay next to each other and just don't touch and be laughing, having a good time looking at movies, arguing, laughing again, cooking. Spending time with each other. So when you revert back to what people might say, we got all of this real life happening. We don't even care." she added.
However, as reported by The Shade Room, their deep love seemed to have lasted only a week after their engagement, seeing that they ended up calling it quits and officially ended their relationship. As per an inside source, the mother of Brasco's child was present at the engagement celebration and claimed that he never asked her to leave, despite her not having a good relationship with Gates. He reportedly told Gates he asked her to leave, but Gates soon found out he was not truthful. She spent the next five days in a hotel, and the couples called it quits later on.
Who is Gates dating now?
Although ending a five-year relationship could not have been easy, Gates has reportedly moved on and is close friends with a certain Eric Whitehead, who owns a luxury car business. Not much is known about him as of now, but as per his Instagram profile, the couple seems to be living it up.
