When it comes to home and design, everyone is easily enamored by the clean, modern aesthetic, symmetry, muted tones and minimalism. While those looks have their own aesthetics, old-school homes, however charming they are, have their own set of issues.

This is a fact homeowners Sebastian and Gabriella Jackson can definitely agree with, seeing that their stunning 1920s home came with a whole lot of personality and problems. With never-ending electrical issues and a non-functional kitchen, calling this beautiful home a bit of a fixer-upper is a massive understatement.

Enter Nicole Curtis and her trusty crew, who are here to help the couple restore this beautiful home. The season premiere of 'Rehab Addict Rescue' has Curtis back in action and in full swing, as we see her squabble with her crew, mix vanilla essence in the paint (it makes the house smell great, apparently), and even consult her oldest son, Ethan, on a few design elements. Watching her ready and raring to go makes it hard to believe that she's actually been away from the screen for this long!

The Jacksons are just as glad to have her around, seeing that they've put a lot into this home. As business owners, they do need to stick to a budget while ensuring their home is functional and liveable.

The couple runs The Social Club Grooming Co, a barbershop that goes beyond just grooming, but also focuses on giving back to the community. Curious to know just what they're all about? Keep reading.

What is The Social Club Grooming Co about?

Barbershops have always been deeply rooted in communities. It went beyond being a place where you get a haircut and served as a spot where dialogue took place. Turns out, that's exactly what the Jacksons' vision is too. The Social Club Grooming Co not only offers salon services but also has the quintessential barbershop culture. It's a place where ideas, thoughts and opinions are exchanged. They also have their own roster of celebrity clientele, seeing that rapper Big Sean and former NFL running back Reggie Bush have often gotten haircuts here.

The brand's ' Shop Talk' has been making waves

Seeing that the brand gets people from all walks of life, they organize a form known as 'Shop Talk'. As per The Social Club Grooming Co website, 'Shop Talk' is "a series of Barbershop conversations. This forum is designed to give our audience of well-traveled, well-educated and well-groomed individuals an opportunity to engage with local and global innovators, influencers and leaders. While participating in an engaging conversation, the audience looks on as leaders get their haircut."

In the past, the forum has hosted celebs such as Former Detroit Lions running back Joique Bell, art dealer and educator George R N'Namdi and Detroit Vs. Everybody owner Tommey Walker. In fact, the Shop Talk forum got so popular, that they even landed an NFL deal back in 2019, where they hosted the forum at Super Bowl weekend. The session was moderated by Greg Jennings, a former Green Bay Packers wide receiver and Fox Sports analyst.

It's clear to see that the Jackson's are passionate about what they do, and it's no different when it comes to their home. Thankfully, Curtis was able to swoop in and save the day, giving this couple the beautiful home that they deserve!

You can catch all eight episodes of 'Rehab Addict Rescue' on HGTV and Discovery+ on Thursday at 9 pm.
