The San Diego Comic-Con 2019's 'Fear The Walking Dead' panel shared some good news with their fans. The American horror drama has been renewed for a sixth season. The cast and creators confirmed the news. 'Fear The Walking Dead' is AMC's second highest-rated series behind only 'The Walking Dead'.

The panel saw showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, executive producers Robert Kirkman, Dave Alpert, Gale Anne Hurd, and Greg Nicotero and director and co-executive producer, Michael Satrazemis as well as Scott Gimple, the chief creative officer of 'The Walking Dead' franchise take the stage.

In addition, cast members Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Danay Garcia, Maggie Grace, Jenna Elfman, Alexa Nisenson, Austin Amelio, Rubén Blades, and Karen David joined the panel as well. As reported by Deadline, Gimple made the announcement that the series would see another season. He also added that the Colby Minifie, Peter Jacobson and Colby Hollman will be joining the cast for the season.

Much like last year, the panel also saw the first look at season 5B ahead of its midseason finale on Sunday (July 21).

You can watch the comic-con trailer for 5B here:

The trailer sees the heroes preparing for battle and taking on the walkers right outside one of their bases. It is also revealed that their mission is clear-locating the survivors and make the world a better place. Morgan Jones (James ) is seen leading his team and there are voiceovers of each member of the team believing that helping others would give them a chance to redeem themselves for their wrongs in the past.

Soon after the trailer launch, Gimple also revealed that they are going to be exploring more of the post-apocalyptic 'Walking Dead' universe. "The big secret is that there have been other civilizations that have survived the apocalypse," he said. "We are about to show a lot more."

'Fear the Walking Dead' first premiered as a spin-off to AMC’s superhit series, 'The Walking Dead' back in 2015. It captures the early days and chaos of the apocalypse. Since then, there have been a couple of crossovers, including the move of Lennie James (Morgan) and Austin Amelio (Dwight) from TWD to Fear.

The series currently stars Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Maggie Grace, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Garret Dillahunt, Alexa Nisenson, Jenna Elfman, Ruben Blades, Karen David, and Austin Amelio.
