For most brides, Kleinfeld boutique may bring just one name to mind, Randy Fenoli, but Kleinfeld boutique has been getting brides to say yes to the dress for more than 75 years. Since 1941, Kleinfeld has helped thousands of brides find the perfect wedding dress. Established by the Kleinfeld family, Hedda Kleinfeld and Jack Schacter, in Brooklyn as a single storefront with three dressing rooms, featuring fur and special occasion dresses, Kleinfeld has certainly come a long way over the years.

In 1968, Hedda Kleinfeld introduced wedding dresses from European designers and in 1979 Kleinfeld expanded the store and removed fur and evening dresses and made the decision to focus only on selling wedding dresses. It was in 1999 that the ownership of the boutique changed hands to the current owners Mara Urshel, Ronnie Rothstein, and Wayne Rogers. They renovated the space to include 18 dressing rooms and 13 fitting rooms. In 2005, Kleinfeld relocated to the newly-renovated location in Manhattan with 28 dressing rooms, 17 fitting rooms, 1,500 designer sample dresses and a staff of 250 employees, servicing over 17,000 brides annually. In 2006, Kleinfeld began filming 'Say Yes To The Dress'. If you're a fan of 'Say Yes To The Dress' chances are that shows like 'Bridezilla' and 'Say I Do' will also appeal to you.

Designers

It's generally said that almost every bride that is a part of 'Say Yes To The Dress' will try on a Pnina Tornai bridal gown. But there are of course plenty of other designers to choose from at the store. Some of the other designers who are available only at Kleinfeld include Pronovias x Kleinfeld, Tony Ward, Michelle Roth and Demetrios for Kleinfeld. Other popular designers available at the store include Randy Fenoli's designs of course as well as Hayley Paige, Lazaro, Maison Signore and Martina Liana. The average price of a gown at Kleinfeld is $4500.

Types of dresses on offer at Kleinfield

From silhouettes which include A-Line to sheath, mermaid, flare and even dresses that a last-minute bride can wear off the rack called 'Same Day Dresses', the boutique has got everything to cover a bride's needs whether she has been planning her wedding for months or minutes. The boutique also has an extensive collection for plus-size brides. Also, many of us have grown up thinking a Disney Princess is how we'd like to look on our wedding day and Kleinfeld caters to that as well. They have an entire Disney Fairytale Weddings Platinum Collection, which features extensive crystal beading, pearls and hand-embroidered appliqués and delicate sparkle tulle. All that's missing is the talking animals and birds singing as brides take every step.

Who will help you at the store?

With 18 bridal consultants, many of who you will recognize from 'Say Yes To The Dress' and several consultants just for accessories, there is more than enough help on hand to help a bride-to-be choose the perfect dress and the accessories that go with it.
