Onique is a big fan of piercing but she never thought that one of them would be the reason for her to undergo surgery. In the episode that aired on February 27, Onique decided to meet Dr Emma Craythorne with the hopes that she would be able to help her.

Onique revealed that about four months after she got the piercing, she noticed the lump but it was quite small in size. However, over the coming months, the lump grew in size and now it has reached a point that it gives her trouble.

To make things worse, Onique was not happy about the stares that she usually got on the streets because of the lump. She confessed that she would not feel comfortable walking on the streets as she often felt that everyone noticed the lump on her ear when they first lay eyes on her. She even recalled some of the harsh comments that she has heard because of it. One of them included a stranger telling her that her ear looked like it was pregnant.

She further revealed that there are times when she feels some pain rushing through it while adding that things are worse once she wakes up. Onique admitted that after she wakes up, the lump would often be red and would cause pain. Dr Craythorne revealed that the lump on her ear was benign in nature and was a collection of scar tissue.

Dr Craythorne suggested Onique to undergo a surgery that would allow them to remove the scar tissue, which would give her ear the normal shape. Onique agreed and prepared to undergo the surgery. Dr Craythorne first started the procedure by removing the skin from the tissue and stated that she would be using the same skin to cover the ear once the tissue was taken out.

She then slowly cut the tissue out while making sure that Onique's cartilage was not hurt in any way. Once the tissue was removed, Dr Craythorne stitched the skin back and was able to give Onique the shape that she had hoped her ear would have. However, she informed that it would take nearly six weeks for it to heal completely.

Onique was happy about how her ear looked and knew that she could be more confident about herself.

'Save My Skin' airs on Thursdays at 9 pm ET on TLC.
