Time to forget about everything and huddle up on your couch, as drag race season is just around the corner. 

After wrapping up Season 11 in spring, 'RuPaul's Drag Race' is returning for Season 12 where 13 drag queens battle it out for the title of America's Next Drag Superstar, $100,000, a crown, and a year-long supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics.

The famed series' counterpart, 'RuPaul's Drag Race: All-Stars', has also been renewed for Season 5. But prior to the release of its counterpart, 'RuPaul's Drag Race' is returning for Season 12.  While there is little to no time left for the series to premiere, here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming season of 'RuPaul's Drag Race'. 

Release date

'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 12 will premiere on February 28 only on VH1. 

Plot

According to VH1, the Emmy Award-winning series revolves around "sickening styles, fierce challenges, and backstage drama." In each episode, the drag queens will have to face a main challenge, a runway walk and a lip-sync battle where they will lipsync for life and one contestant will be eliminated at the end of the episode.

RuPaul Charles is a famed drag queen, actor, model, singer, songwriter, and television personality. RuPaul has produced and hosted 'RuPaul's Drag Race' since 2009 for which he has received six Emmy Awards. In 2019, Fortune also shared that RuPaul is "easily the world's most famous" drag queen. 

Michelle Visage

Michelle Visage is a well-known singer, television host, radio DJ, performer, television producer and media personality. She is one amongst the judges on 'RuPaul's Drag Race' and its spin-offs, 'RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' and 'RuPaul's Drag Race UK'. 

Ross Mathews

Ross Mathews is a television personality who has also appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' as Ross the intern and a correspondent on the show. Apart from appearing as a judge on 'RuPaul's Drag Race', Ross has also appeared on 'Celebrity Fit Club' 'The Insider' and 'Celebrity Big Brother'. 

Carson Kressley

Carson Kressley is a well-known television personality, Style Superstar, actor, and designer. Carson was also the fashion expert on the OG series 'Queer Eye'. He was also a contestant on 'Dancing With The Stars: Season 13'.

The contestants who will be appearing on 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 12 are Aiden Zhane, Brita, Crystal Methyd, Dahlia Sin, Gigi Goode, Heidi N Closet, Jackie Cox, Jaida Essence Hall, Jan, Nicky Doll, Rock M Sakura, Sherry Pie, and Widow Von'Du.
