The town of Roswell gained prominence in the 1940s after a United States Army Air Force balloon crashed at a ranch near it. Since then, the 'Roswell UFO incident' has spawned many controversies, theories, and stories.

One of those stories was the 'Roswell High' young adult book series written by Melinda Matz. The books were adapted into a TV show in 1999 that launched the careers of Katherine Heigl, Shiri Appleby, and Colin Hanks.

The show was rebooted last year -- while including updates for the 21st century. Dealing with themes of immigration, racism, and the current administration, the show proved to be a hit. The second season of the show is set to premiere soon. Read on to find out more.

Release date

The second season of 'Roswell, New Mexico' will premiere on Monday, March 16th at 9/8c and will follow 'Supernatural'.

Plot

When Season 1 of 'Roswell, New Mexico' ended, Max Evans sacrificed himself to bring Liz Ortecho's sister, Rosa back to life. She has been gone for ten years and she is about to learn that she has been surrounded by intergalactic aliens.

In Season 2, Liz has to balance the sadness of the loss of Max, with the happiness of having her older sister back, although Liz is the older one now. Liz seeks comfort in science -- earthly and extraterrestrial, possibly in hopes of bringing Max back.

Meanwhile, Rosa seeks Kyle's help in figuring out life in 2019 -- after all, besides the knowledge that aliens exist, her world would have changed a lot from 10 years ago.

Isobel and Michael are also grieving the loss of Max with the former exploring potentially dangerous methods of self-defense and the latter spiraling back into some old habits. Michael also puts his relationships with Maria and Alex at risk.

Finally, Liz, Isobel, Michael, and the others must make a deal with Jesse Manes for information after a friend appears to vanish into thin air. Could it be an alien abduction?
