Robert Pattinson hesitant to propose to Suki Waterhouse as her patience wanes
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse have been together for four years now but he was reportedly hesitant to go down on a knee despite the model being ready for the next step.
Waterhouse, 30, is now reportedly sick of waiting for a marriage proposal from the ‘Batman’ star, 36, and has gently started turning the screws. "She's not making any ultimatums — not yet anyway — but she is bringing up the subject of marriage and feeling him out,” an insider close to the couple told Radar Online, adding, "They seem so right for each other, but he's still on the fence. The insider added that the ‘Twilight’ star was uncertain about exchanging vows with Waterhouse because of his past relationships. "Rob knows Suki is a great girl and he's lucky to have her, but something is stopping him from taking the plunge," the insider reportedly continued, adding that "his past relationships have left their scars." Pattinson was previously in an on-and-off relationship with ‘Twilight’ co-star Kristen Stewart, which ended on a humiliating note. He parted ways with Stewart in 2012, after she cheated on him with 'Snow White and the Huntsman' director Rupert Sanders.
Speaking about Pattinson and Waterhouse, the couple finally made their red carpet debut together at the Dior Fall 2023 menswear fashion show in Giza, Egypt, on Saturday, December 3. The pair looked madly in love as they made eye contact while posing for the eager shutterbugs.
Rumors of Pattinson and Waterhouse dating first started in June 2018 after they were photographed kissing in London. "Along the way, they were very close and cuddled and kissed many times," an eyewitness told E! News at the time, highlighting that the 'Tenet' star was "very affectionate" and had his arm around Waterhouse the entire time. "They were very loved up and close. Robert stroked Suki’s hair and gave her another loving kiss," the eyewitness added.
Their relationship reportedly took a more serious turn in 2020 when they ended up quarantining together in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. "Rob and Suki have discussed getting engaged but are in no rush," sources reportedly said at that time, adding, "Suki is not pressuring him and they are both very committed to each other." Despite being among the most glamorous couples in tinseltown, the pair have been keeping their relationship away from the public eye.
