If you watched movies like ‘DUFF’, ‘The Hunters’  or ‘The Babysitter’, you certainly would have noticed the handsome face of Robbie Amell aka Robert Patrick Amell IV. This Toronto born actor has made a mark for himself in Hollywood, thanks to his good looks and acting talent.

Robbie is no stranger to stage. Before he began appearing on television series and films, he was a regular face on commercials and also modeled extensively. The ‘DUFF’ actor was drawn to the world of glitz and glamour at a young age. At a tender age of six, the handsome star alongside his sister would audition for commercials and even star in them.

As he grew older, he began playing major roles in his high-school plays and this is when he was starting to feel drawn to the world of acting. Although his parents were jewelers, Robbie showed no inclination in following his parents' footsteps and instead chose to pursue his dream of acting. He believed that a degree in acting would help him hone his skills as an actor and so he made his way to Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute, Toronto.

Soon after graduating, he began appearing on various television shows and in minor roles in films. As hard as it might be to imagine Robbie doing anything but acting, there was a time when he considered playing hockey professionally. He once said, "I was playing a relatively high level of hockey, and I thought that's what I wanted to do. But I had my first movie audition, and I was hooked." His first film was 'Cheaper by the Dozen 2' in 2005.

Robbie and his cousin and 'Arrow' actor Stephen Amell's crime thriller movie 'Code 8' is available for streaming on Netflix. Robbie produced the movie with his cousin and it was funded by Indiegogo campaign.

The 31-year-old actor is married to his long-time girlfriend and actress Italia Ricci. The couple has been in a relationship since 2008. They got engaged in 2014 and tied the knot in 2016. They welcomed their first child, Robert Amell (V), in September 2019. The actor frequently shares pictures and adorable videos of his son on his social media pages.

Robbie's new show 'Upload' will premiere on May 1 on Amazon Prime Video. The show has been created by Greg Daniel and is set in the future, where people who are close to dying can upload themselves into a virtual afterlife.

In an interview, Robbie explained his upcoming show saying,  "(Creator) Greg (Daniels) thought about this concept 30 years ago when he was writing for Saturday Night Live. Nobody was willing to touch it because it was so out there. I had so much fun on this show. It has been a long process, we shot the pilot back in January of 2018."
