Fans have been anticipating Season 5 of The CW's 'Riverdale' for a while now, and with so many changes such as the 7-year time jump with the gang promised, we're thinking this season might be the best out of the four. While Jughead Jones' (Cole Sprouse) father, FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich) won't be coming back to the show, all other cast members will reprise their roles. There are also new characters such as Chris Mason's Chad Gekko who plays Veronica Lodge's (Camilla Mendes) controlling and jealous Wall street working husband.
Season 5 is set to start with the entire gang at their graduation, and yes we will eventually also see prom. Not to mention Vanessa Morgan who plays Toni Topax became pregnant while shooting for this season, and so according to reports her real-life -pregnancy is "embedded" into the storyline. Our favorite mystery-solving blone, Betty Cooper, trains for the FBI, but we don't know what's happened between her and Jughead. The one major plot of the cinephile videos still looms over our heads, and the trailer for sure only baited our curiosity. It's about to be an intense season for sure. The dynamics of the characters will change as usual, and that's what fans are waiting on. Here is what the premiere episode has in store for us.
When will 'Riverdale' Season 5 Episode 1 air?
'Riverdale' Season 5 Episode 1 titled 'Chapter Seventy-Seven: Climax' will air on January 20, 2021, at 8 pm EST on The CW. All episodes from Seasons 1 to 4 can be watched on Netflix. As per reports, new episodes of Season 5 will be added to Netflix one day after it premieres on The CW.
What is 'Climax' about?
The official synopsis for the Season 5 premiere of 'Riverdale' reads: "Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead's (Cole Sprouse) investigation into the auteur leads them to the discovery of a secret underground for red-band screenings. Elsewhere, in order to impress the visiting Naval Academy Commandant, Archie (KJ Apa) agrees to participate in a boxing exhibition against another candidate - KO Kelly (guest star Zane Holtz). Meanwhile, as Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) prepares for prom, she stumbles upon a major secret that Toni's (Vanessa Morgan) been keeping from her. Camila Mendes, Mädchen Amick, Mark Consuelos, Casey Cott, Charles Melton, Vanessa Morgan and Drew Ray Tanner also star. Pamela Romanowsky directed the episode written by Ace Hasan & Greg Murray."
