‘Rhythm + Flow’: Fans overjoyed by D Smoke’s victory, applaud judges Cardi B, T.I., and Chance the Rapper's verdict

'Rhythm + Flow' fans couldn't be happier with the judges- Cardi B, T.I., and Chance the Rapper's decision of picking D Smoke as the winner of the hip-hop talent hunt show
UPDATED OCT 24, 2019

Most reality talent-hunt shows end with a large section of the audience being unhappy with the winner, but that was not the case with Netflix’s ‘Rhythm + Flow’.

The show’s format didn’t allow the audience to choose their winner by voting for the participant as the decision lay with just the judges—Cardi B, T.I., and Chance the Rapper. Surprisingly, the show's fans couldn’t be happier with the judges’ decision.

The finale saw D Smoke pitted against another fan-favorite contestant: Flawless Real Talk.

After waiting for a few intense nail-biting seconds, D Smoke was announced as the winner of ‘Rhythm + Flow’ season 1. This means the Inglewood-based rapper won a cool $250,000 and a coveted spot on Spotify’s ‘Rap Caviar’ live tour.

Fans couldn’t be more pleased with D Smoke’s victory. A Spanish teacher by profession, the aspiring rapper used the platform to create social awareness through his powerful lyrics and this won him several fans.

Unlike many other rappers, he wasn’t rapping about guns and girls. Also, his amazing stage presence and gift of switching between languages had both judges and fans drooling over him.

Although D smoke’s performance was consistently good on the show, he kept getting better with each performance. Just as we started to think that he can’t get any better than this, the rapper went ahead and proved us wrong.

For instance, after his performance collaboration with Miguel, we were convinced that he couldn’t possibly top that power-packed performance. But for his final performance, he brought out his secret weapon—a piano—and knocked our socks off with his impressive piano skills.

Fans couldn’t be happier with the judges’ decision to pick this super-talented performer as the winner. One fan tweeted, “Season finale of #RhythmAndFlow had me crying. Oh but was that win just so amazing.” Another fan shared, “D Smoke is an artist.  He's talking about real shit, not just the club or girls or money.  I love him, what can I say?!  #RhythmAndFlow”. “@DSmoke7 D Smoke’s win is inspirational. In the era of clout chasing and microwave rap he stuck out; he carved his own lane in this competition and won. His win was well deserved. I can’t wait to see what’s next #RhythmAndFlow”, wrote another.

You can stream ‘Rhythm + Flow’ on Netflix.
