NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Bethenny Frankel, a former cast member of 'The Real Housewives of New York,' recently stood by 'Golden Globes' host Jo Koy following his comedic remark about Taylor Swift.

At the awards ceremony, Jo playfully quipped, "The distinction between the Golden Globes and the NFL is that we have fewer shots of Taylor Swift."

Nevertheless, the ex-'RHONY' personality shared a video asserting that Jo Koy was merely fulfilling his role as a host.

In the video, Bethenny supported Jo, stating, "He got hired to host the Golden Globes 10 days before. You can't now start whining about that... you only had 10 days to prepare because like if you enter the Olympics you can't do it."

She further noted, "The joke he told about the NFL and Taylor is like a joke. It's just like a joke." The reality star added, "Some writer wrote it or helped him with it. He went with it."

She trolled Taylor and continued her rant, "She didn't think it's funny. Who gives a **** like it wasn't that funny? But it wasn't that like salacious and like horrible."

She added, "I mean you know he didn't throw in a dub dumpster with duct tape on her mouth. So like why is everyone so crazy about the whole thing? He was a host. He survived and he didn't get slapped."

She elaborated in the caption, "Just because comedians make hosting look easy doesn’t mean it is… Props to @jokoy for showing up and finishing the race."

Meanwhile, Bethenny's rant backfired as the social media users slammed the reality star for supporting the comedian.

A social media user commented, "He was terrible…boring and not funny at all/ he seemed to be making jokes to himself."

Another person added, "It's more the fact that she gets labeled many hurtful things for simply taking a sip of her drink. Ryan Reynolds had a VERY SIMILAR reaction to a joke about him....the media didn't seem to mind that at all. But, Taylor? Ate her alive."

A critic noted, "Let's place the annoyance on the right person. It wasn't funny. Taylor didn't have to laugh to stroke anyone's ego. Her reaction was absolutely harmless. Didn't fake it."

Another internet user said, "Hosts are worse than commercials."

A follower penned, "If a woman said she only had 10 days, she would be nailed to the wall. We don’t get a pass for that! If you take the job, regardless of time to prep, you have to crush it. 10 days, 10 months. It’s all the same. Whining about the prep time just means you didn’t prepare properly!"

Another Instagram user wrote, "Really? You as a WOMAN couldn’t figure out why him insulting what the movie Barbie stood for to a room full of modern women was a bad idea? God, I hope your marketing team and PR teams are better than his. 😂."

'Golden Globes' host Jo Koy calls out writers for Taylor Swift joke

After the "awkward" and "embarrassing" 'Golden Globes' 2024 monologue, host Jo Koy backed himself and blamed his writers for Taylor Swift's NFL joke.

In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Jo claimed, "There’s a lot of greats that make rookie moves," adding, "and that was a rookie move."

Comedian and host Jo further noted that the award ceremony writers were "dope and that was not my intention at all. They were amazing, they had my back, and I need to make sure I fix that, and I will, I always will."

Jo elaborated that writers were not assembled until eight days before the 'Golden Globes' 2024 January 7 telecast and that they only entered the writers' room two days before. After the jokes fell flat, the comedian defended himself on stage.

He said, "Yo, I got the gig 10 days ago. You want a perfect monologue?" He added, Yo, shut up. Slow down. I wrote some of these and they're the ones you're laughing at."

After audiences' mixed reactions, Jo noted that he'd love to host the ceremony again but "with five months, not nine days" to prepare.
