‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ fans get teary-eyed as they watch Teresa's dad and Gia discuss Joe's ICE detention

A raw, emotional exchange between Gia and her grandfather left several fans heartbroken and feeling sad for the Giudice children and Teresa.
UPDATED NOV 7, 2019

The much-awaited ‘RHONJ’ Season 10 premiered on November 6 and fans were left teary-eyed after watching the premiere. If you have been following the show for a while then you’d know that housewife Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice are in a bit of trouble with the authorities. Teresa was behind bars for a brief period of time, alongside her husband Joe. While Teresa is a free bird now, Joe, unfortunately, isn’t as lucky.

Turns out Joe isn’t a legal citizen of the country, he never applied for citizenship, and today’s regime being so anti-immigrants, it came as no surprise that when Joe was released he had two options before him. One, go back to his country Italy, but if he chooses that he can never step foot in the USA again, the other option being he appeal and fight for it. The couple’s oldest daughter, Gia clearly tells her father that if he leaves the country then that means he has given up on his family. So Joe chooses to go to the ICE center and wait for his hearing which might take another six months.

Meanwhile, Gia chose to go to college closer home so that she can come back home immediately when her father is released, she also chose to study law, to fight for the rights of people like her father. When Gia tells her family that she’s upset that her father won’t be around to witness some major milestones in her life, her grandfather (Teresa’s father) consoles her by saying that he’s always there for her. Gia starts crying on hearing that, her grandfather then gets upset watching her cry and says “I cry inside”.

This raw, emotional exchange between Gia and her grandfather left several fans heartbroken and feeling sad for the Giudice children and Teresa. A fan wrote, “Oh my GOD!!!! That scene with Teresa’s dad telling Gia he would be there for her since Joe wasn’t & then her crying & saying she was crying because she loved him so much... I died when he said “I cry inside.” I’m sobbing. Too much heartbreak. #RHONJ”. Another fan echoes similar thoughts with, “My heart just broke into a million pieces!!! “I cry inside” #RHONJ”, referring to Gia’s grandfather’s lines.

Fans can’t stop appreciating Teresa’s father for always standing by his family. A fan wrote, “Omg #rhonj Theresa’s dad is making me cry. He’s SO sweet. Being the dad and grandpa for Gia “.  Another fan tweeted, “Omg #rhonj Theresa’s dad is making me cry. He’s SO sweet. Being the dad and grandpa for Gia”. “Teresa’s daughters are so beautiful! My heart just breaks for them. Watching Gia talk about her Dad and the scene with her Grandpa made me tear up. It’s just all so sad.  #RHONJ”, wrote a fan.
