'Real Housewives of Orange County': Braunwyn plans vow renewal ceremony, fans call it 'kiss of death' on show

Fans are convinced that Braunwyn isn't together with her husband Sean anymore because of the curse of the infamous vow renewal ceremony

Anybody who has ever watched any of the 'Real Housewives' franchise would know that having a vow renewal ceremony usually doesn't bode too well for the housewives and their marriage. The vow renewal ceremony is infamously nicknamed as "housewife hex" as the marriage falls apart almost immediately after the vow renewal.

Looks like the hex might be very much active, as Braunwyn Windham Burke is the latest 'Real Housewives of Orange County' star who is planning on having her vows renewed.

In her green room interview, Braunwyn shares that she wants to have a vow renewal ceremony with her husband Sean Burke, for their 20th anniversary. She then reveals that they had one for their 10th anniversary, but at that time she was very drunk. The housewife expresses that she wants to do it right this time around and wants to be sober during the ceremony. She also wanted to be surrounded by her family and friends. 

Sean too seems to be onboard and seemed excited about Braunwyn's vow renewal idea. Braunwyn even began inviting guests to the ceremony. While the couple can't wait to celebrate their marriage, fans don't seem to share the same excitement. Several fans took to their Twitter to express their concerns and how the vow renewal ceremony has never worked for any of the housewives.

A fan tweeted, "If you’re doing a vow renewal, your marriage is over - you just don’t know it yet. #RHOC." "UH OH - Braunwyn’s having a vow renewal...we all know what that means #rhoc." "Did Braunwyn just say “vow renewal?” Those words are the kiss of death to marriages in the Housewives franchise. #RHOC," commented a fan.

In the past, Vicki Gunvalson and Shannon Beador had their vow renewal ceremony with their former spouses. Both the housewives' marriages ended shortly after the renewal ceremony. Braunwyn's marriage too seems to have taken the same path. As the housewife recently announced that she had separated from her husband. Fans began blaming the vow renewal for it.

A fan shared, "Oh so Braunwyn had a vow renewal on TV.. that’s why her and Sean are separated now #RHOC #HousewifeCurse." Another fan echoed similar thoughts with, "Oh god no wonder they’re not together anymore, vow renewal is the kiss of death #RHOC."
