BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Since Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards have been embroiled in so much controversy, 2023 has been difficult for her. But compared to other Bravo couples whose unions are having trouble, Kyle and Mauricio have generally been able to keep things under control.

Fans were quick to criticize the housewife, though, after they saw the star from 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' act coldly toward her now-former spouse.

On X, fans noted, "Ooof, when Kyle told Mauricio “Don’t kiss me like that” when every other season she was all over him and vice versa. She’s done done…" Another person chimed in, "The way Kyle avoided Mauricio’s kisses…so cringe worthy… I mean if you are done with his a** then just leave him…but don’t deny anything is wrong especially when you are in the public eye…" 

One user also tweeted, "Chile that kiss between Mauricio and Kyle was ice cold! He pulled her in for a kiss and Kyle said." A fourth user quipped, "Watching scenes with Kyle and Mauricio." 

Some viewers also felt, "That kiss b/t Kyle & Mauricio?? Its getting weird.." While others wrote, "That was one forced-a** kiss between Kyle and Mauricio."

Kyle chatted with E! News about her relationship with Mauricio, and how they manage to keep it together for their children.

"Like with most relationships, first and foremost, we're friends," he said. "Our relationship, any issues we had … was never fighting. Disagreeing about things was not our issue ever."

Despite the problems surrounding their current situation, Kyle knows that fighting is not an option.

"We know that we are both struggling. So, we’re just trying to do it with as much compassion as possible and trying to keep things as normal as possible because three of our four daughters still live at home while we go to therapy and try to work through things."

"This sounds cliché, but I really just want peace, I really do," Kyle said of her expectations for the new year. "This has been a really rough year, going through so many difficult things in my personal life and so much scrutiny."

Kyle can look forward to Christmas with Mauricio and the kids until the new year begins.

Kyle Richards jokes about Mauricio Umansky cheating rumors with Morgan Wade

When it comes to speculation about her and her husband, Mauricio, Kyle has a fantastic sense of humor. Kyle joked with buddy Morgan Wade on the December 13 episode of 'RHOBH' about her co-stars presuming Mauricio was unfaithful to her.

"I’m not looking forward to tonight at Sutton [Stracke]’s event," Kyle says in the film while FaceTiming Morgan.

"We had this huge fight the other night. She and Garcelle [Beauvais] kind of both thought that because I had this ring on [that] they’d never seen before, that Mau gave it to me because he cheated on me. [They thought] it was a makeup gift."

The scene then cuts to Sutton and Garcelle telling Kyle about their assumptions regarding the ring. "All of these things kind of add up," Sutton adds, adding, "I thought it was a makeup band."

Kyle makes a remark about the necklace she chose for Sutton's event, after Morgan says it's "very interesting" how people speculate about the actress' personal life "no matter" what she does.

"I’m wearing this tonight. So, who knows what rumor this would start?," she adds of the item. "I mean, maybe [Mauricio] has a whole other family in another country. Maybe I do! Who knows?."

Trouble is brewing for Kyle and Mauricio in the 'RHOBH' midseason teaser. Kyle said of her marriage to Mauricio, "I want to feel happy and fulfilled. I don't know if Moe and I are going to make it."

In the midst of her marital problems, the 'Halloween' actress finds solace in her buddy Morgan. During the performance of the country singer. "I'm so grateful to have someone like Kyle in my life," she says with a smile.
