PUNXSUTAWNEY, PENNSYLVANIA: The cast of 'Return to Amish' will be back for another season, and the troubles just keep piling up. The cast members will explore their Amish lifestyle in the upcoming seventh season. In addition to some familiar faces like Sabrina Burkholder and Rosanna Miller, there are also some new ones. The series is a spin-off of 'Breaking Amish,' which sparked much controversy when it first aired.

'Breaking Amish' first aired in 2012 and featured five Anabaptists, including four Amish and one Mennonite, who emigrated to New York City to experience life there. Rebecca Byler and Abe Schmucker, who were both from Punxsutawney and members of the series, became closer in that first season because of their shared history. Eventually, the couple married and later made an appearance in 'Return to Amish.' Although the series still airs, the reality stars haven't appeared on the show since 2017. Read on to find out what the two are doing now.

Why did Rebecca and Abe Schmucker leave 'Return to Amish'?

After Season 4 of 'Return to Amish,' the couple announced their exit in 2017. They stated that they wished to put their attention on family-friendly activities. "Announcement! We made the decision to no longer participate in Return to Amish," Rebecca tweeted in 2017, per Starcasm. "It's been a long road to come to this decision as a family and to move on to things that make us happy and bring us closer to where we want to be. We are living our best life!! PS I got my GED!!"

Later, Rebecca suggested on social media that the drama on the show had something to do with the decision. The couple had central roles in the series, but they were also known for their shaky relationships with their relatives. Over time, Abe's mother, Mama Mary, and sister, Katie Ann Schmucker, both rose to fame in their own right.

Where are Abe and Rebecca Schmucker now?

Abe and Rebecca are still together today, some 10 years after the end of the first season of the original reality series. They do not lead an Amish lifestyle; instead, they live a content but peaceful life in Pennsylvania, not far from Amish country. Malika and Kayla, their daughters, are now beautiful young women! Rebecca recently took a trip with Abe, who is now a truck driver. They visited Minnesota and Idaho, among other places. Unfortunately, Abe's truck broke down on the way, but they were able to fix it quickly.

Rebecca enjoys cooking and often shares some of her family's recipes with her fans. Since Abe's work often keeps him away from his family, she is usually at home with her two daughters. Mama Mary and Rebecca and Abe are still very close.

'Return to Amish' premieres on TLC on Tuesday, March 14, at 10.pm ET.
