'Restaurant: Impossible' Season 17: Release date, plot, quarantine specials and all you need to know about Robert Irvine's show

Food Network's show, 'Restaurant: Impossible', features celebrated chef Robert Irvine stepping in to save the day for owners of failing restaurants. With $10,000 and 48 hours on the clock, Irvine undertakes this daunting task of preventing the restaurants from facing an imminent shutdown. Season 17 is up to premiere soon, continue reading to find out more.

'Restaurant: Impossible' Season 17 premieres on Thursday, May 14, 2020. 

Plot

With a strong design team in tow along with a list of volunteers, Robert Irvine attempts to turn the wheel of fortune for struggling restaurants and help them to tread towards the path of success in the new season of 'Restaurant: Impossible'. The premiere for Season 17 is scheduled at 9 pm ET/PT on Food Network. With a little disruptive thinking and a lot of manpower, Robert looks to rescue these desolate restaurants from a complete shutdown. The new series will also include an hour and a half long episode where Robert will return to Escondido, California, where one year ago he helped Kaitlyn, the owner of Rosie's Café, keep afloat her drowning restaurant business. Kaitlyn suffered a near-fatal motorcycle accident in December last year and the episode will see Robert coming back to pull off a spectacle of an event to help Kaitlyn with her towering medical bills. The episode is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 28 at 9 pm ET/PT.

Quarantine Specials and 'Restaurant Impossible: Revisited' Episodes

Food Network will premiere a special episode on Thursday, April 30 at 9 pm ET/PT. Robert checks in remotely with the 'Restaurant: Impossible' family to see how the past restaurants featured on the show from across the country are doing during the global pandemic.

On Thursday, May 7 at 9 pm ET/PT, Robert and his wife Gail sit down at their house while quarantined and revisit the very first episode of 'Restaurant: Impossible' to see how far they have come and how much has changed through the years.

Premiering Thursday, June 18 at 9 pm ET/PT, 'Restaurant Impossible: Revisited', will see Robert making surprise visits to some of the most memorable places and people to see how things have changed.

In another series of special episodes of 'Restaurant: Impossible' starting Thursday, June 25 at 9 pm ET/PT, Robert will count down some of his favorite episodes, including the biggest restaurant transformations in 'RI' history, the worst bites, best meals and most touching reveals, and a special look at the most memorable 'Restaurant: Impossible' relationships through the years.
