‘Reno 911!’ Season 7: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Quibi's revival of the comedy classic
It’s been 11 long years since we last saw Lieutenant Jim Dangle and his entourage of deputies at their humorous best. ‘Reno 911!’ was one of Comedy Central’s star series that successfully ran for six seasons from 2003 to 2009. And then they became history. But sometimes, history can repeat itself and better. Thanks to Quibi, the country’s first and only mobile-streaming service, reprising the experience of the funny cops from Nevada city’s sheriff’s department with an all-new seventh season.
Release Date
The seventh season of ‘Reno 911’ will make its debut on Quibi on May 4, 2020.
Plot
‘Reno 911!’ was originally designed as a direct satire of a hit network show ‘Cops’ and explores the behind-the-scenes action in Reno, Nevada's Sheriff's Department. Lt Jim Dangle heads the department and is assisted by his team of deputies. Each of them might be unique and quirky at their best but together, they make for an incompetent team and are often outsmarted by the criminals they attempt to catch.
In course of their daily duties, the department, under the guidance of their chief, Lt Dangle, takes the audience through heavy satire and pun on social issues, racial concerns, politics, economy, substance abuse, mental disorders, and much more, albeit in their signature, outlandish ways. Each episode explores a new incident/event/issue within the department or of any of the department members. As such, there is no taking off from where they left. Rather, the upcoming season will see the team working with new themes and sketches that resonate with the current audience and social scenarios.
