'Real Housewives of Atlanta': Fans rally behind NeNe after spitgate, say no storyline for Kenya without beef
Drama on 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' hit a new high with the fight between Kenya Moore and NeNe Leakes taking a new low. The previous episode saw both the ladies feuding maniacally after NeNe said wicked things about Kenya's split with husband Marc Daly.
The recent episode pushed their animosity higher after a verbal volley of words ensued between the two housewives ending in NeNe trying to spit on Kenya.
It all started when Kenya revealed the reason that sprouted hatred in her against NeNe. In a clip from an earlier season, we see NeNe asking a heavily pregnant Kenya if she was giving birth to a buffalo. The latter appears to remain stuck on this and expecting an apology from NeNe for the same. NeNe was quick to clarify that she called Kenya a buffalo and not Brooklyn and that's where things got ugly.
Things got heated up real quick and the two ladies were embroiled in a very heated argument that turned into a full-blown verbal assault. At one point, NeNe lost it completely and stood up and lunged forward in Kenya's direction to try to spit on her.
Fans, however, are divided on the matter and a lot of them were seen rallying behind NeNe after the incident with some saying that Kenya picks fights with NeNe for screentime.
"Bottom line: If Kenya didn't have this so-called beef with @NeNeLeakes, she would have NO STORYLINE! That's why she can't and won't let it go. #RHOA," read a tweet. Another fan who wrote, "Kenya doesn't have a storyline and she has useless on the show she's a bitter woman and she hates herself."
The episode also saw housewives Kandi Burruss and Cynthia Bailey trying to "attempt" to resolve matters between the feuding ladies. They sat them down and put on a skit with both of them pretending to be NeNe and Kenya and talking their issues out.
NeNe saw through the tomfoolery and decided to walk out from there. Fans were not very happy about this intervention and called them out for making a mockery out of this.
An angry fan tweeted, "What if NeNe did a skit about Cynthia being cheated on or about Kandi being accused or rape? Let's act out those tragedies. #RHOA. Cynthia is wrong as hell for doing @NeNeLeakes like this."
Another fan wrote, "I get why NeNe left. Kandi and Cynthia needed to let sleeping dogs lie. I believe NeNe and Kenya will make peace one day, but that wasn't the place or time. #RHOA."
Another fan also called them out for ganging up on NeNe. "Sooo @Kandi & @CynthiaBailey10 can give Kenya 87 passes because she’s going through something, but not give Nene a pass when her husband was on the brink of death? Oh okay ... #RHOA."
One fan's tweet read, "#RHOA Kandi You and Cynthia really need to stop favoring Kenya. You're enabling Kenya with her vicious behavior to everyone, especially NeNe. You might be doing it for ratings, but it's time to stop!"
