'Ray Donovan' Season 7 Episode 4: Molly Sullivan's romance with Ray may end generations of enmity between the families
'Ray Donovan', over the course of seven seasons, has evolved as a show, many times over. If you watch the first season and the ongoing Season 7 of the Showtime series, you will see a visible difference in the narrative of the show, and more importantly, in the protagonist, Ray (Liev Schreiber).
This season, especially sees him being more introspective, self-aware and, most importantly, willing to change for the better, mostly thanks to his sessions with Dr. Arthur (Alan Alda).
Despite continuing to live a life of crime, he has come to realize that violence may not always be the answer — at least not the first answer. We also saw him do something we could not have imagined in Season 1, which is to forgive Mickey (Jon Voight), and in turn, accept his forgiveness as well.
After finding out that his father is alive, he sends him packing to the Maldives, in order to protect his family. However, Mickey is hoping to stay back, and it may be the worst time for him to resurface, thanks to the Sullivans floating around in New York.
We saw Ray doing his Ray thing to help Mayor Feratti (Zach Grenier) and the people suffering from it now are Kevin Sullivan (Josh Hamilton) and his sister Molly Sullivan (Kerry Condon).
They are both from his past, and the latter even used to have Ray's late sister Bridget as her babysitter. She is clearly attracted to Ray and even used their shared memory of Bridget to make Ray help her brother.
It is clear that Ray feels something for her, and it has been a while since that happened. The Sullivans and Donovans have been at war with each other for generations, and it seems like a relationship between Ray and Molly may fix that — okay, not fix, but at least put a band-aid on it.
In the trailer for the upcoming Episode 4 of the season, we see them hooking up and it seems like that is exactly where the show is headed. Season 7 Episode 4 of 'Ray Donovan', titled 'Hispes' will air on Showtime on Sunday, December 8.
